Weird, looked like he still thought he was getting there and took it easy.

Very poor there.  Why go for a gap that was never there?  Stay on the outside.  Terible ride

FPTP looks a great 1.3 shot. Crowley caused his own problems from what I'm seeing

Definitely up there with one of the worst rides of the season that. Slow motion finish and had the whole track to explore, had at least a furlong and a half to work a gap. Criminal.

Horse wanted to hang to the left and Crowley wanted to go to the right....he spent too long fighting the horse before giving up and going outside.....too late though.

Yep, trying to get the rail wasn't he.

Wasn't it Crowley who not long back stopped another rider taking the rail, by nearly smashing him through it...? Ironic.

I wish we could get 1.3 shots like that every day of the week

He won on Tarhib earlier on the card in a competitive sprint - was that up against the stands' rail, Jim?

Er, no, bang down the middle of the track.

An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race following interference approaching and passing the 1 furlong marker involving the winner, SELF INFLICTED SID, ridden by Rob Hornby and GOOD SHOW, placed second beaten a head margin, ridden by Jim Crowley. It was established that in the lead up to the incident GOOD SHOW had been travelling well in behind SELF INFLICTED SID and there was sufficient room between ARTISTIC CHOICE (IRE), placed third, on the stands rail and SELF INFLICTED SID for Crowley to attempt his run. However, by the time Crowley had been able to extricate his mount out from behind SELF INFLICTED SID, that gap had narrowed appreciably and due to GOOD SHOW racing awkwardly and hanging left-handed, Crowley had become trapped on the heels of SELF INFLCITED SID for some distance and had to check his mount. Furthermore, the Stewards were unable to be satisfied that GOOD SHOW had ever fully established running to the outside of Hornby and therefore ordered the placings to remain unaltered. The interference was found to be accidental as SELF INFLICTED SID had edged marginally right-handed, further reducing the size of the gap available to GOOD SHOW which was already tight.
