my sister lives in Germany, they pay 50% tax and that's part of the reason for "better" living !
Report May 22, 2022 10:45 AM BST
There is no set pension amount in Germany, it depends on average earnings and yearly contributions. Health insurance may also not be included (depends on circumstances).

As Foxy Top pointed out, monthly salary deductions are high, as is health insurance (comulsory). As guidance i pay 912 euros per month although i this is for 'freelance' rates.

8k is laughable
Report spyker May 22, 2022 11:13 AM BST
There are many many people on UC and jSA who would dream of 8k a year - I suggest you take a look at that sort of thing elsewhere as well and judge just how much we are ripped off in this country. It's laughable that people actually think Europeans come here for our benefits system - they are slightly easier to get but a hefty amount less.

Word must have got out about Pritti Patel's Rwanda Airways one way ticket!

I doubt many will want to be eating Giraffe n Chips instead of a full english in a Brighton hotel.

There is no set pension amount in Germany

It also varies in this country depending on your NI contributions which are less if you pay to a occupational pension or if you have not paid for enough years.

But does the Chancellor of Germany (Olaf Scholz) give you 200 euro once a year to fund your habit.

We need a Scholzy Steiner thread.

In this country there is a minimum flow of cash from the taxpayer after state pension age is reached, regardless of your NI contributions or length of putting in. Along with other freebies.

How much Pension Credit could I get?
Pension Credit comes in two parts. You might be eligible for one or both parts.

Guarantee Credit tops up your weekly income to a guaranteed minimum level:

£182.60 if you're single
£278.70 if you're a couple.

Savings Credit is extra money if you've got some savings or if your income is higher than the basic State Pension. It's available to people who reached State Pension age before 6 April 2016. You could get up to:

£14.48 extra per week if you're single
£16.20 extra per week if you're a couple.

By claiming Pension Credit, you might unlock other benefits too, such as help with health and housing costs.

Cider, that £278.70 per week only applies if you're a couple both over the age of retirement.

You don't think that taxpayers should support people of working age not to work, do you ?
