was having a pop towards a junior pro @ lingfield a few weeks back
said he's gone too fast in front for the 1st 2f

turns out the ATR sectionals were slow for 1st 2f & the trainer reported the horse bled which explained the weak finishing effort

Was having more of a pop at the jockey coaches. The best pundit by far, speaks his mind, not like the other gravy slurping merchants.

Speaking his mind is only a good thing if his mind is accurate and reliable. Ruby Walsh has been a breath of fresh air since swapping his riding boots for a microphone, but around him there are still too many old pros mouthing platitudes. But Sanders needs to be like Ruby and not just another Matt Chapman-style professional controversialist.

He finally realised that  he was to hard on the kid so he got stuck into the coaches then. You could see his co presenter squirming with his over the top comments.

He may have been a bit harsh in this case but I agree with his sentiment that if a young jockey is not punished for careless or dangerous riding, it becomes a habit, and sooner or later a senior rider will put him on the floor as happened with Tylicki.

Sanders does a good job and to compare him with Chapman who would never criticise a British jockey for fear of losing his next interview is clearly wrong.

now wheres that switch!!!

more worrying is the comment about Ruby being a good pundit, he is as good on itv was he was at final fences and hurdles...

Matt Chapman-style professional controversialist.
Ramruna: beautifully accurate description of Chapman. Sanders appears to be content with the role of being used as Chapman's stooge, but Seb also always gives the impression that he is always very partial to a liquid lunch!

Chapman is not in the least controversial and is happy to tow the line as his constant references to "Sky Sports Racing" testify.
