'ronnie', you'll be missed here. I hope you'd pop in with the occasional post. Not a good start for antepost fav backers; Inspiral and then Luxembourg missing their gigs. Next AC to contend with too.

Best wishes Ronnie, but I'm sure you'll be back, after 50 years punting it's in your blood, you won't know what to do with yourself, could always take up golf or knitting or something equally boring. Good luck Mr Corals.

Sorry to hear that Ronnie. I've been punting for just over 65 years and certainly not enjoying as much as I used to do and reducing the time I spend on it but it's my main mental activity so convince myself it's good to contunue for that reason alone.

Ronnie, I am not a big contributor on here mainly because of a few village idiots, they know who they are, but have always read your contributions, whatever is in front of you, enjoy and be lucky..

What a joyous thought from the OP, leaving this place and never coming back. Just think of what you could do instead of wasting your life on here opening and reading threads.
Walks along the beach on a sunny, breezy summer's evening.
A glass or two down the local.
Watch a classic old time movie.
The lovely alternatives are endless.
Do a runner now Ronnie before you make the mistake of changing your mind!

More likely the £6.25 for a Pint in the Pub next door to the Queens, in York the other day - That pushed Ronnie over ...
Cut back on the Expenses on Hotels and the like - Ronnie .... Play about with a few Placepots instead of 'going in Head Down' ... Cannot do too much damage - Keeps your interest going.
As Brian posted earlier - Far better exercising your Mind by studying Form Everyday - Than struggling to do a sodding Sudoko puzzle - sat with the other 'given up strategic thinking ones' - in the Old Folks Home.

Good choice, Felt. Great song. Alexa plays it for me nearly every day. I have Ray Price's version but Perry Como's is better. Good luck, Ronnie and keep well.

Hope to see you on 'Betting People' at some point, your stories and anecdotes about racing and high street betting shops must be recorded for posterity.
Be great if you could come back in a few months and let everyone know how you are getting on. As always don't let the b'tards grind you down...
Cheers, Avi.

What do they think has happened, the old fools, To make them like this? Do they somehow suppose It’s more grown-up when your mouth hangs open and drools, And you keep on pissing yourself, and can’t remember Who called this morning? Or that, if they only chose, They could alter things back to when they danced all night, Or went to their wedding, or sloped arms some September? Or do they fancy there’s really been no change, And they’ve always behaved as if they were crippled or tight, Or sat through days of thin continuous dreaming Watching light move? If they don’t (and they can’t), it’s strange: Why aren’t they screaming? GL Ronnie
