The Baldings are clearly terrible at choosing jockeys. Buick, Probert, Oisin Murphy (they can't be blamed for his off course antics) Watson, Hornby, Carver, Davies, Hutchinson. How come they are all in such demand if they can't ride? What they seem to me to share is pace judgement and good hands. Several big owners have sent horses there this season to join Jeff Smith, King Power, K. Rausing, Highclere, HM The Queen, etc. Juddmonte, Saeed Suhail, Sheikh Obaid, and others all on the roster this year. Hardly the sort of people to tolerate poor jockeys.
