Perfect ride and beaten by a horse with a stone in hand. Jumped well from box 2, second or third on rail all the way and had to go when he did. If he had waited a bit longer Ryan would have had him earlier. Super maiden at Ascot coming next.

The Baldings are clearly terrible at choosing jockeys. Buick, Probert, Oisin Murphy (they can't be blamed for his off course antics) Watson, Hornby, Carver, Davies, Hutchinson. How come they are all in such demand if they can't ride? What they seem to me to share is pace judgement and good hands. Several big owners have sent horses there this season to join Jeff Smith, King Power, K. Rausing, Highclere, HM The Queen, etc. Juddmonte, Saeed Suhail, Sheikh Obaid, and others all on the roster this year. Hardly the sort of people to tolerate poor jockeys.

Yes, too many seconds, but he has not had so many 3yo maidens this year which are usually the ones to back. The best ones all won as 2yos.
