Would be nice if the new commentators didn't base their whole commentary around the betting, the way all the other ones do these days.

How can I put this...they're not quite what I was expecting in the current climate. Best leave it there.
Amazes me how they learn the colours so that in 20 runner sprint they can instantly call the name of the one that bursts through from nowhere and often in running can tell you what the horse's last run was and who the jockey and trainer are. I'd struggle in a three horse race (I might just cope in a two horse race) .
Not sure I'd fancy a Newbury on a Friday when they've got five 20 runner maidens full of newcomers, but otherwise, easy job innit?

The guy at Worcester needs to do a bit more homework...simple Google would tell you how to pronounce Onchan and there were only 4 runners in that race, so pretty poor he couldnt be @rsed to check it out imo.
add, Dani Jackson a female commentator calling the 12-35 charity race at Newbury today. didn't get on the rosta this year, but seems determined to get on the list.

Dani Jackson has been calling for Hills for ages, mainly greyhounds though and had trials in America recently. I think she does a good job personally.
Yet another commentator thread without anybody mentioning Owen; by far the worst of all. Have to admit its a while since I heard him except by accident for a split second before the mute.
Hoiles is getting irritating. And Hunt. They are the fake nice guys knowing they are stealing a living.
