Jockey Josh Moore is in critical care at Aintree University Hospital after complications from a chest infection.
Moore had undergone successful surgery on a broken femur following his fall from Gleno at the sixth fence in the veterans' chase at Haydock on Saturday.
The Injured Jockeys Fund provided an update on Moore on Wednesday, which read: "Following his fall at Haydock on Saturday, jockey Josh Moore is in critical care at Aintree University Hospital.
"After successful surgery to his femur, his recovery has been made complicated by a serious chest infection which has required him to stay sedated on the ventilator and has delayed definitive treatment of his injuries.
"The specialist medical team are working hard to treat Josh, and his family remain by his bedside.”

terrible news with the chest infection, jump jockeys risk enough every day with chances of serious injury and to get an infection while being treated is awful,
hope he makes a complete recovery soon. |

He had not been back long from another injury which required an operatiom. Terible luck with injuries in the past. Hope all gets sorted out soon for him.
Hospitals are the worst place to be sometimes regards to picking up infections, for all of their efforts in combatting them. |

So so many injuries and surely used up all his cats lives by now  Hope he bounces back stronger than eva but all these injuries mount up/tekk their toll in the end  |

I hope he pulls through too. His family is more important than a career as a jockey given the injuries he seems to sustain every so often. Get through this, and have a break. And, leave the horse riding to someone else. Good luck Mr Joshua Moore!
