Honest question. Living in uk i never watch it. Not because it aint good but because i cant trust it so it holds no interest betting wise. Am i in the minority?

Don't know if you are in a minority but I watch and back in it. Form is form imo.
Report stewarts rise October 23, 2021 5:58 PM BST
I try to avoid the maiden races with multiple O' Brien runners from their 3 stables but find the  handicaps are pretty reliable form wise.

Racing is corrupt all over the world. Irish racing is good to watch. And they do quite well when they come over here.
Report stewarty b October 23, 2021 6:12 PM BST
I was talking about the jumps tbh. With AOB in a poor state I prefer to take my chances over the obstacles.
Report RothmanMike October 23, 2021 6:26 PM BST
Watch every race on Ruk.

I sometimes watch it but always on mute. Worst commetators / race callers in the world. Unbearable hysteria every single race
Report sparrow October 23, 2021 6:47 PM BST
Very rarely.
Report big aitch October 23, 2021 7:13 PM BST
The main difference I have noticed is that they have reserves, and it sticks out like a sore c o c k when the reserve is very well backed.
Report isleham October 23, 2021 7:26 PM BST
If they can win 23 out of Festival races and you like jump racing it is hard to see why you wouldn't watch it..it is always possible to watch racing and not bet you know

only the better races lots of **** horses in ireland
Report RothmanMike October 23, 2021 9:29 PM BST
Most on here can’t afford RUK subscription, so there must be a limited audience.

Mediocre races good for us Layers, Dragon.
Obviously get caught occasionally, but not as often as UK stuff.
If there was only AUS,US and Irish, I’d be far better off.
Report themightymac October 23, 2021 10:02 PM BST
Well why do you not just stick to what you win at and stay away from UK racing?
Report RothmanMike October 23, 2021 10:19 PM BST
I do try.
I don’t very often play at
Chelmsford
Fontwell
Plumpton
Newcastle
Windsor
Goodwood
Brighton
Ascot
In fact very few ATR tracks or anywhere south of the M25,so I’m slowly getting there
Report themightymac October 23, 2021 10:20 PM BST
Cut them all out mate and stick to what you are good at.
Report sparrow October 23, 2021 10:26 PM BST
Do you still play the Greyhound marathons, rothman?
Report The Dragon October 23, 2021 10:31 PM BST
no chance i ever bet on rubbish irish racing

got ruk but skip the irish rubbish
Report RothmanMike October 23, 2021 10:34 PM BST
Absolutely.
But I tend to bet heavy in the place market on Aamzaroyale   and Savana Volcano..
They’ve been going off at 1.16 & 1.12 with nowt to beat recently.
And you can get a decent bet on.
Report sparrow October 23, 2021 10:37 PM BST
2 of the best we have seen for a long time but I just wish they would put on more distance races at all levels. Surprised you can get much on in the place markets although to be honest I never look at long odds on shots.
Report RothmanMike October 23, 2021 10:40 PM BST
You can, and Kevin Boothby loves a marathon, so he has started to put a few comps on.
Knowing he likes a bet, I sometimes wonder what goes through his mind when the 2 big guns meet.Cool

This thread reminds me to get the polish out to shine my shoes for March again and another tanking for nicholls&coGrin
Report sparrow October 23, 2021 10:51 PM BST
The problem is many tracks just don't seem bother about the races they put on anymore so there is little incentive to breed distance dogs and its all about sprinting now. With 14 races per card it has become ridiculous to expect little else but surely they could manage one or two beyond 4 bends.
Report RothmanMike October 23, 2021 10:57 PM BST
There are still several 8-bend comps in the calendar, and we still see a proper marathon race on finals
night for many televised comps.
Most folk don’t realise that there are only 3 or 4 real stayers in the land, and that the best dog in these events
tend to win.
People think these races are like 4-bend roulette and that a bump matters, and of course it doesn’t in marathons.
Report sageform October 24, 2021 11:56 AM BST
Decent standard jump racing, yes. Flat races with GB runners, yes. Otherwise no. I prefer France as a rule.
