A great character and what a life he lived. I always found his horses were punter friendly. Some great wins on Vintage Clouds at Haydock and who finally won at the festival this year at a brilliant price. Albertus Run and Many Clouds also delivered huge paydays.

Apparently lost 700m thanks to Fred the tread messing up RBS with bad deals, just shows how rich he was. RIP Trevor Hemmings.

whilst often associated with Aintree, to me his colours always brought to mind winter afternoons on that wonderful old chase course at Haydock

Very sad news.

As posted by themightymac, the town of leyland was in his veins. Called one of his horses Turpin Green which is in the older part of town where I believe he was born.

He has bankrolled Preston North End for many years and it is sure to impact on the club.

What a life he has had though. Not many achieve so much.

Always came across has a pleasant and quiet humble man.

Rest in Peace.
