Pub near London Bridge Saturday, £7.10 pint of Peroni, not normally a beer drinker, seems a tad steep

Report hulk23 October 11, 2021 8:57 PM BST
6.10 here but fairly pricey when we go over to the pad in Courchevel, not uncommon to see €13 for a Guinness in some places etc ...
Report CROPSICK October 11, 2021 9:19 PM BST
2.40 pint of amstel

Report Manoleeds October 11, 2021 9:49 PM BST
Spoons £1.99 or £1.49 with a Camra voucher . Bit expensive but sometimes you have to push the boat out.
Report saddo October 12, 2021 12:00 AM BST
I passed a huge Spoons on Otley road- Hyde park end- the other day Manoleeds. I've seen that old building empty for 40 years or more.
Report SlippyBlue October 12, 2021 2:25 AM BST
I don't drink but when I do go to a pub it's usually around £3.50 for a pint of coke, a pint lager is about £5.70 or thereabouts.

That would be https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Golden_Beam .The new Stick or Twist near the Arena is good.

2.70ish for Carling (which I refuse to drink) 3.20ish for Tennents 3.50ish for Coors 3.70ish for Stella - all available for a bit less in spoons or the pubs in shopping centre

Round my neck of the woods £4.50-£5.00.  Peroni has been £6.50 for a while.
Report barstool October 12, 2021 12:24 PM BST
Guiness £4.20 Peronni £4.80 only pints over £4 in the local.

All others between £3.20 and £3.90

Choice of about 8 major brewers and half a dozen craft beers.

Moorhouses Pride of Pendle and White Witch the best selling beer. Carling sell most of the other stuff.

heard of £7 being asked down the road in Keswick ( Moretti , not even brewed on the continent )   Just bought 36 bottles of Heineken today ( 330ml ) for £21. So that's about £1 a pint. Pubs are out for me.
Report skiptoomaloumacari October 12, 2021 1:25 PM BST
Bitter £3.60 a pint .............apart from Thirsty Thursday when £ 2.88 !!!!!!.......
Report chewy11 October 12, 2021 1:36 PM BST
£2.70 for Moretti in 1 place, everythig else £2.40 probably about half the price of the rest of town.
Report hulk23 October 12, 2021 1:38 PM BST
need to be careful charging £6 for something you can get for £1 or less in Tesco.  not sure everyone wants to go back that badly.

£2 Wetherspoons but average £4.50 (ale) - Bognor
Report Celtic warrior October 14, 2021 11:01 AM BST
Hulk. Too true. Used to go to pub every sat and Sun lunchtime pre corona.

Now we only go once every two months for a meal

I dont miss it at all now, especially the £40 easily burnt each visit.

I think alot of middle aged/older people share this view now. We all got used to a pack of 15 green Dutch gluggers for £13 quid from tesco which easily lasts through the college american football on Saturday nights.
Report Celtic warrior October 14, 2021 11:03 AM BST
Suppose the same could be said for paying to watch live sport aswell although my £30 to see baeed win his final race is well worth it... to think he could possibly win the derby next year. Lots of excitement over the winter

Must have been nice if you went twice.

That's very reasonable for a racecourse, my nearest track Sandow would be a fair bit more than that.
Report Storm Alert October 14, 2021 2:11 PM BST
Ascot for the CAMRA festival Fr/Sat early Oct is excellent value for a good crack. £20 to get in (adv booking) Beer £4 a pint, huge choice and mostly good quality.

Storm

I second that. Excellent beer festival and has its own part of the grandstand so plenty of aerated space. Wide choice of beer to suit all alcoholic tastes
