In all honesty I cant believe how poor the racing coverage is compared to other sports.
Theyve done absolutely nothing for over 30 years since racing pics were introduced into the bookmakers shops.
You look at other sports, and theyve now got camera angles all over the place for the publics enjoyment and to give the best experience they can, whether its wanted or not, theyve tried to move forward with the times.
Racings coverage is akin to one fixed camera in the stand at a match.

What have they done in 30 odd years in racing, absolutely nothing, what we get served up isnt fit for purpose especially in this day and age.
They want people to invest money in gambling on their product yet they show pictures which are head on and the punter cant tell where his horse is in relation to the rest of the field, they zoom in which is pointless again unless youre interested in seeing a close up, at most tracks they cant even show the full field and dont bother with the backmarkers, the ones on the stand side or far side of the track.

When people were babbling on about a tenth of a second on RTV around the turn of the year, i told them theyd be better off campaigning for better pictures.
You had people complaining about a 1/10th making all the difference to their in running experience, when in reality theyd be better off playing 5/10ths behind on a drone picture due to the angle theyd see.
Pressure should be brought on the industry to update their thinking on the quality of product punters see.

Get rid of the camera man stuck up in the air filming 3 furlongs at a time, its not cost effective and it provides useless coverage.
Surely investing in a drone of their own at each track would pay for itself in no time and with what they could purchase and put out, youd have better angles and more enjoyment of the sport all round.

Even a split screen showing a side on drone like they do at certain US tracks would be a start.
It baffles me why they think people arent betting on racing anymore and its a dying industry amongst punters, it doesnt take a genius to see punters want to view a race, and see whats happening to their money

They have drones at many tracks...just the pics arnt supplied to the customers until they edit them into a 'brst of' package or feature after the race.

Im still waiting on somebody explaining why the slow mo on the line was held back from punters from the only race where there was photo betting at Sandown on Sunday....

That was very suspicious dustybin and not the first time it has happened. Some might even say it has been deliberate and for a reason.

It's as though betting is expected to be murky

its a business decision why most track are not 0.6 behind or playing on a level playing field live like most people are being lead to believe.

do race tracks want a level playing the answer is no, they want the drones out of the sky tracks player to fill the boxes stay at home punter to lose we have seen a few tracks using there own drones have picture speeds improved? no.. probably someone in house using the track drone gaining an unfair advantage but what makes the laugh what are betfair doing to put pressure on the tv companies and race tracks sweet FA..........Laugh IN P

IN PLAY WILL NEVER BE A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD ITS JUST THE WAY THE INDUSTRY RUN IMO
