Just make sure that they understand that legal action is a possibility if you lose a penny and copy that communication.

Jeez

It sounds like your account has been upgraded to VIP status.
|

It's astonishing that you can explain your potential dire situation to live chat and yet they inform you there's absolutely nothing they can do to help you. Absolutely zilch.
|
By:
absolutely ridicilous,
|
By:
So frustrating.
Not being able to communicate by phone is maddening. |
By:
Well that sounds a load of C##p I hope fate rewards you and your bets actually leave you in decent profit.
Good luck sounds like a lawsuit in the offing, if goes against best R.F |

no reason not to give anyone a notice that acct will be suspended in a certain time frame, so bets can be traded cancelled etc
|
By:
I kid you not i received a £10 loyalty bonus (as i have for about the last 4 weeks) at the same time they suspended the account.

Astonishing. They must think you are "cleaning" the dosh on here. No other reason makes sense.
|
By:
worse thing for op, if they unspended acct and op werent aware and unmatched bets taken

Cheers shady, i had an account manager many years ago. How has betfairs customer service come to this? It's unreal.
|
By:
FWIW, much better using twitter rather than live chat, @BetfairCS
|
By:
It seems strange in such a well regulated industry

By:
It's gone like they want us all to leave, that live chat rubbish is soul destroying ...
|
By:
Sadly the Betfair Customer Service probably don't truly understand the situation. Ridicolous, hope your unmatched doesn't cost you.

Astonishing. They must think you are "cleaning" the dosh on here. No other reason makes sense. Agree,, that is what they must be thinking. Are the 12,000 worth of unmatched bets competitively placed and have a decent chance of getting matched? |
By:
Betfair have been taking the p1ss out of it's customers for years now with a level of customer service that is second to none in it's ineptitude. But as sorry as I feel for the opener, we only have ourselves to blame, people are not bothered until the problem effects them directly and then they realise what a shower of sh1t they are.
If Betfair aren't fussed about risking losing a big punter like this, what chance do the rest of us little fishes stand? They'd bother if they woke up tomorrow and every one had fcuked off somewhere else, but they know that until someone steps up and offers a viable alternative, they've nothing to worry about and can be as complacent and useless as they want. If you've not been affected by this directly yet, it's only a matter of time. |
By:
beggars utter belief.
|
By:
There's no money laundering going on believe me. Yes the unmatched bets are 'real' bets, most have been matched whilst the account is suspended and my balance is changing accordingly. Fortunate to have the funds to use what was a dormant bet da q for some. The horrible bit will be on unmatched outright winner football markets when matches go in play.
|
By:
Can't believe what I am reading. Hope the bets have at least gone well for you today.
|
By:
Are they keep bets?
|
By:
pretty sure you can't do this. if you could, they could wait for anyone to place a big bet then just suspend their account. then pick it off at will.
|
By:
Staggering how the unmatched bets are allowed to stand whilst they cut your legs from beneath you, can't be legal surely
![]() Even more strange and always seems to be the way is that they allow continued access to the forum so we can all hear about it ![]() |
By:
It's an intolerable situation
|
By:
It doesnt make sense to me.
Bf impose their own rules and take nearly 50% of the most successful punters, and the successful among us wont become sportsbook users if denied access to the exchange, so what would be the gain in running down further the liquidity and effecting even greater numbers negatively as a result? |
By:
There are no keep it bets. I have unmatched bets on the golf starting tomorrow id like to cancel. The most worrying bets are a few outright football league winner bets which are a few increments under the current price. If they're unmatched when the matches start they'll get picked off at some point i should imagine.
|
By:
..unless they've worked out the gameplan and thought they could do that without sharing 50%?
|
By:
pretty sure you can't do this. if you could, they could wait for anyone to place a big bet then just suspend their account. then pick it off at will.
Exactly. And it would be a bet to nothing. If the picked off bets turn out to be a winner for the suspended customer, they could just void them. |
By:
This is the second thread along these lines. Either BF are acting totally unfairly & are intent on upsetting customers or there is more to it than meets the eye. BF would be totally stupid to act as the OP says without good reason. Something fishy this way comes either with BF or the OP. I hope it all works out for you Mr Bagged.

Live chat ceased to be anything but a stalling process years ago , it's only function is to fob you off with a promise of an Email sometime in the future that never arrives , still waiting for the tech team to get back to to me over a phantom bet ! that showed up during a race , ie the same bet taken twice then disappearing once the race had finished .a bet they would no doubt have taken if it had lost
|
By:
the closed my acct twice few months back for approx 24 hours, it was with the safe gambling thing. i also had bets pending etc ( nightmare), i recall posting on here at the time.
|
By:
It might be your posting I remember Mr Elisjohn. In your case it appears there was a legitimate explanation. This safe gambling policy is throwing up many problems for punters!
