Thinking of going to Yarmouth or Catterick next week and wondered what I would need to do to guarantee entry. Have had the 2 vaccinations, but do I need to show the certificate. Do I still have pre-book, even though not sure which I will attend. Will carry a mask, but is this mandatory. Would be interested in race goers experiences since the relaxed rules came in. Cheers.

Yes, I get that there are general published rules , but wanted first hand experience from someone who has attended. Like does overcrowding become a factor, are refreshments available and can we go and sit down in a restaurant for a meal. Any feedback from actual folk who have been racing this week. How many books, etc.

But all this theoretical guff issued by the tracks is not always what happens. A report back from someone who's been to the track this week would be appreciated. A journey to Catterick 186 miles, or Yarmouth 120 miles , only to be told we're full, would not be nice. Also tickets for walk-ins tend to cost more than booked. But as I say, I won't decide until the day, after looking at the card and the weather.

Was at Bath this afternoon. Big crowd, no pre booking. I guess 95% not wearing masks indoors or outdoors. Masks not necessary in the parade ring. Ice cream van taking cash though anything run by ARC are not.

went to catterick yesterday very enjoyable day cash taken everywhere, loads of outside furniture a good happy crowd soaking up the sun and enjoying the modest standard of racing, even saw a winning jockey helping cool down his mount with buckets of water in the winners enclosure something i have never seen before.to be honest i found it an overall good experience even in the weeks leading up to july 19th.
like mr c i would say around 95% not wearing masks indoors not that many were indoors yesterday, catterick was pre booked tickets only yesterday which is a bit of a pain and there have been a few occasions i have ended up not having a days racing this last few weeks because of pre booking, thankfully catterick will be walk ups from now on as will many other tracks,i believe jcr racecourse are to continue with the policy of pre booking till at least the end of the year along with card/online payments only for food and drink, hopefully they will reverse that decision when the realise the profits are down, been to all haydocks bar one since crowds returned and the general feeling is the racegoers do not like it.
all in all mike going racing at the moment is a very good experience.

Thanks Jim. So for the forseeable, Jockey Club Racecourses need to be pre-booked, but the others seem to be walk-in in the near future.Watch this space I guess. Never been one to look to far forward, although the weather seems set fair so next week is good.

Iv found the prebooking dead easy just make sure your phones not dead when you need to flash the bar code.the card payment only is a pain queued 20 mins for drinks at Brighton only to be told card only (Mrs had my wallet in her bag very frustrating) & the food outlets appear to over profiteering £4.90 for a sad sausage roll.

No smart phone here, only IPad which doesn’t process the NHS site. Going to pubs also a pain because of this, bloomin apple. Also have to give name /address /phone no. each time I go. So do they send tickets electronically to email.

Still confusing to me. Looked at Yarmouth, no tickets available 'til 3rd August, presumably no walk-ins. And unfortunately don't fancy going anywhere south within 100 miles of M25. Wrote to Beverley though., and they were quite helpful
