in all honesty the only good thing about the Irish coverage is Ruby Walsh.

all racing pundits have no connection with racing participants hence they will have impartial views on all incidents that occur to allow fair accurate analysis of races

i am sure the world has alot of excellant judges who bet for a living and would love to get in racing tv someway but sadly it appears to be all inhouse, it would be great to see someone on a racing tv channel who has no connection to a jockey trainer or an ex jockey a journalist or a commentator , i think it would be better viewing tbh

I've warmed to Fran Berry. He actually goes through the whole field if he is given time, so many on both stations just mention the first three in the betting.

O'Ryan will say, in order to make an excuse for a jockey, that the horse was 'never travelling ', even if it was cruising the whole way round. As well as his numerous earners in racing the clothes he wears are usually sponsored in some way.

Fran called out the "application of cash" on a winner a while back on a horse with a series of duck eggs in front of its name and a landslide of money for it on the day so I have high hopes for him and I think he'll only get better.
