Persad has presented television coverage for the likes of the BBC and ITV at the The Open Championship, The Masters Tournament, Wimbledon, and the World Snooker Championship.[4] Persad has also presented at global events such as the Olympics, The Ryder Cup and The Commonwealth Games and ruk send him dubai he has done well better than working at halfords

Don't forget his regular spots on the bowls scene. If Bullseye was still on he would probably be the the new Jim Bowen.
|
By:
didn't know about the bowls rishi has more arrows than robin hood
|
By:
Rishi and Clare Balding get first dibs on all sports, don't leave much for the rest
|
By:
he was also the face of channel 4 cricket at one stage
|
By:
Would be ideal if Kabbadi ever makes a comeback on Channel 4, or Indoor League on itv4
|
By:
sumo or football italia may make a comeback you never know if he has some time free
|
By:
Shame they took wrestling off of TV, Rishi could have been the new Kent Walton
|
By:
Box-ticking Rishi presents everything.
Not like the old days when David Coleman presented Grandstand. And commentated on football. And athletics. And tennis. And the Olympics. And presented Question of Sport. |
By:
Tbh I agree with complaints about over-used and over-exposed presenters but let's not pretend it is anything new.
|
By:
Rishi is the consummate professional and has forgotten more about sport than most on here will ever know.
|
By:
He certainly knows how to get a good gig. To be fair Persad has improved a lot since that cringe worthy Henry Cecil interview at Ascot.

What is your lots problem with someone working and earning a living? Do you think you can do a better job (certainly seems to be thecae with racing presenters you don't like) or is it purely because he is browner than you? No threads on Sue Barker. the scots commentator that seems to comm on everything, the rather annoying and pouty Fiona Bruce who pops up everywhere or the myriad of (white) presenters that do the same? Im not a fan of Richie but I'm not a racist ether.
And no, not being racist is not the = of being woke whatever your racist, scrounging generation thinks. |
By:
should be the new sid waddell imo
|
By:
I'm surprised Tommo was never allowed to extend his talents beyond racing (actually I'm not really surprised)
|
By:
i like rishi
|
By:
Rishi seems like a nice guy, but I'm sure there are better qualified presenters out there. The type's that know their sports inside out and don't have to stay up half the night swatting up on something they are maybe not as passionate about. Give someone else a chance! Clare B very professional but gets on my t*ts!
|
By:
Had a chat with him at a race meeting once and he came across just a normal, approachable bloke. Nothing stand offish about him at all.
|
By:
There are many (white) presenters out there who present across a range of sports & formats yet the op & others on here only notice when it's Rishi.
No prizes for guessing why. |
By:
Never rated him much as a presenter since first saw him on Beeb's ( is that right ? ) racing coverage. He's as ubiquitous as that fount of all knowledge, Dan Snow, who I find particularly irritating : Dan Snow's History of Tuplip Mania ; Dan Snow's History of The Somme ; Dan Snow's History of Railways in Britain ; Dan Snow's History of Nepotism at the BBC... .
Etc. |
By:
Don't mind Rishi, much prefer him to Inverdale thats for sure. Its not box-ticking him being on Wimbledon,
that Scottish bint on the other hand (Djokovic and co must be thinking WTF . ) |
By:
Perhaps John Inverdale is the "non bame excellence" the op refers to.
Presents or presented tennis, rugby, horseracing, rowing... Full of gaffes & almost got decked by Steven Redgrave for being a smart arse. |
By:
Yeah I remember him first on the BBC. Back in the day when they decided o overhaul the all white team and managed to get every stereo type in racing and fit them into their coverage:
Cockney Geezer, Scouser, Country Irish Jockey, Commonwealth Guy, Ethnic Guy, ****, Posh Totty... |
By:
was watching rishi interviewing after a game yesterday and it was embarrassing, "how did you feel when you won?", "were you nervous today?", compare to interviewers at the french open and there is a huge difference is in knowledge of the sport and the quality of question, that said the tennis players seem to like him and make his job very easy by giving better answers than the question warrants, if he was interviewing the losing player is might not be the case
|
By:
He was very unlucky in that Charity Race.
What’s happened to Oli? I saw he cut his face up and is Korean now? Ffs weirdo knew it. |
By:
Lets be honest the overall quality of horse racing coverage is just not quite right. Racing TV is so dry and most of the presenters just seem to be sleep walking through the day. ATR not much better. I don't even bother watching the preview stuff as nothing insightful ever comes out of it. ITV was a breath of fresh air when taking over from CH4 but needs livening up somehow. Cumani, Weaver and Harvey ok, Chamberlin needs to change the record.

No issue with his colour! As I stated, his mediocrity is why I posted. His questioning is pitiful no matter what sport he covers. When picking presenters, who is the best available should be what broadcasters look for. Mainstream media are not interested in this they just want A black one A female one A gay one A disabled one and to hell with how good they are. When they want an overweight middle-aged white one I will have my day. |
By:
different gravy...no issue with his colour....yer right who you trying to convince
|
By:
indeed
|
By:
Some people see what they want to see.
I will await a ban for being racist. |
By:
come off it different gravy...if rishi was white there would be no thread
|
By:
Say what you like about Rishi's inane questions, at least he got to meet Emma Raducanu
