great to have it back this year...

just noticed some interesting betting in the Denis Kudla v Alejandro Davidovich Fo game....

£88k matched at this point meanwhile most other games are under 10k matched...

looks like a few folk think Fo will take this one...

i'll be keeping an eye on it (if and when it gets played).

i used to take my hols wimbledon fortnight every year and watch every match on bbc, nastase, borg, connors, sampras, everet, goolagong , loved it all, now i honestly wont watch a point let alone a set, i havent a clue other than the big 3 in the mens who they are and as for the women ive heard of the williams sisters and thats it, does anyone watch it any more ?.

but i must add has there ever been a more remarkable feat, than a 17 year old boy winning the mens singles, utterly fantastic achievement by boris

just noticed that chang was even younger winning the french, but id say that winning wimbledon was even greater

give it a go this year john...

women's tennis is great just now...

wide open...

if you want a match to watch today the Mladenovic v Rybakina match should be really good...

it'll be on the BBC website.

I've been working down there a bit recently Hibb. Lovely venue (when quiet at least) and bigger than I expected, apart from Henman Hill which is quite small. How the locals manage with the influx of people is beyond me.
GL with the betting.

i actually think it looks better when it's a bit on the dull side like it is today saddo...

sensational venue...

i think when i become an OAP (or if i become an OAP) that's definitely going on my 'to do' list.

i think alot of the locals rent their house out for the 2 weeks saddo...

and obviously local businesses must make a fair chunk in a normal year.

Betting on women's tennis is an absolute joke. Full of flakes who you couldn't trust to get over the line on any given day.

Betting on tennis full stop isn't attractive. You are talking short odds on individual matches, you are guessing on fitness, and in the outright market 1/2 first two couldn't be more unattractive. It's about time bookmakers offered first four. What's the difference with golf where it is common to get 7 or 8 places?

ok happy , ill give it a go, but  who do you think will be outright winners Wink

boring to say but Novak is clearly the one to beat in the men's...

as for the woman's...

you'd be better off asking next doors cat at this stage...

wouldn't even think about it until the quarter final stage john.

It's amazing how many times posters come up with a potential system / strategy but treat their findings as a negative instead of taking advantage of any positive opportunities.

I've compiled my own tennis list of " flakes " as you call them in both the men & women game and been trading them sub 1.2 and far less odds since 2007.

Start thinking laterally with these findings , you won't be disappointed and on the point of fitness / motivation / tanking it's a given that laying sub 1.2 is a far better " guess " than backing someone at low odds that you think can't lose , the law of averages will take care of the rest at those odds.

As for the outright leave it alone unless you get some 1/2 odds 1,2 later in competition from someone with a favourable draw on a place over broke half, otherwise it's just guessing.

Good luck today.  HappyHappy

i'm hopeful the Rybakina match will be on the BBC Red button (whenever it is played)...

the main red button is now in HD...

and there are 6 other channels on there with matches.

very very strange if the Mladenovic v Rybakina match isn't on one of those channels...

but it will be on the BBC website for sure.

in all honesty it should be on one of the showcourts today...

clueless from the schedulers imv.

Hi Hibby, is 'our lass' Maria Sakkari worth a score in yvh? I'd be gutted if she won and not on.

i honestly couldn't advise it tbh stewart...

wide open as per usual...

see what the quarter finals look like...

i could name 20 winners and still probably be wrong.

That was the plan Hibby. Wait until the quarters and if she's still in stick a few bob on and trade out if she wins.

she could be playing Rybakina in the 3rd round stewart...

a potential winner if her serve is in top gear...

personally i'd wait and see how that game goes if the two of them win their 2nd round ties.
