Trueshan stays in the Plate decs bidding to win off 118 (previous highest winner of 107). 12/1 yesterday, now generally 6s. Surely can't win carrying 10-4 though!
Also still in the Fred Archer on same day, which I imagine they might consider if the rain comes, but reports suggesting it heads for the Plate.
And does anyone ever do stats any more on this race?

Nobody cares about this beach race .

What a welcoming 'community' this is. **** you bellend.

Plus, my post was predominately about Trueshan. I'll apologise to everyone (except sixtwosix) for my language and I'll be on my way.

Rhys Clutterbuck claiming 5lb rides him
Report June 21, 2021 7:51 PM BST
The jockey will take 5 lb off and he has won on Tapeta but still a big ask.

Mildenberger also entered off 111.

Don't go Haemolysis, we need more pugnacious types on here.

£81,000 to the winner, I'm sure that trainers will care.
Report EastLower Gooner June 21, 2021 8:54 PM BST
On Sunday a horse won a handicap in Hong Kong off 125 :o

Granted he was previously competing in G1s and had most of the field out of the handicap.
Report penzance June 21, 2021 10:20 PM BST
if he does turn up,I think it's good for racing,
a good GP2 winner giving weight away in a Hcap.
Report Haemolysis June 21, 2021 10:30 PM BST
Definitely good for racing, although that group win is another bad stat to get over (cue more abuse

Morpeth mackem used to do a thread
on antepost.

Tough since its gone onto the
sand, loses a bit of interest.

Plot horses v quality... Should
make it more interesting.

I agree Haemolysis…..too much weight.I think King may regret not running at Ascot.
Report EastLower Gooner June 22, 2021 6:01 PM BST
Anyone remember when Jim Bolger’s team accidentally entered Alexander Goldrun in a handicap off 117?

It was a simple accident and she never ran but Jim tried to joke his way out of it ie - Well I felt she has so much class she could carry the weight etc etc

Can’t think of many improving G1 horses to have tried this on the flat.

Aussies wandering what all the fuss is - plenty of G! hcps to plunder over there which seems to happen with plenty of ex UK listed horses.....
Report EastLower Gooner June 22, 2021 8:16 PM BST

Biggest weight carrying performances in U.K. and Ireland since 2000.

Ocean Tempest 115 the only winner
Report TheAnorak June 22, 2021 8:39 PM BST
There was similar top weight that won the race in 1984 - Karadar carried 9-10 and there was only one other runner with more than 8-11. Karadar was a 6-y-old entire that had won the Doncaster Cup and the Jockey Club Cup the previous year.

I don't know what his official rating was, not even sure they were published back then, but Timeform rated him at 118 at the end of 1983, so probably not far off the mark for Trueshan. And with the bottom weight then 7-7, he had to give away more weight than Trueshan to his rivals.

Well remembered A.

Karadar  carried 9-10  -   and Won off an Official Rating of 109

Ran once more - 3rd of 4 beaten 8 lengths and 12 lengths to Gildoran in the Goodwood Cup

Sold to Ukraine as a Stallion

The lightly raced 4yo Opera gift could be a snip off of 8st8 and he'll do for me at 8/1. Nice pipe opener at Salisbury last month and missed RA unlike some of his rivals. Trueshan wont be a pushover, but the stats are heavily against him and I prefer the inform mare, Dubious Affair as an alternative.
Report driver2 June 24, 2021 12:08 PM BST
Well, it didn't take long to settle that bet! I'll be interested to know why he was taken out, probably an injury.
Report paulo47 June 24, 2021 12:32 PM BST
Took the 15.5 Australis last night , just pleased to see he starts, will also be taking on the stat back to 1986 with the 10 year old !
Report Tiger Tiger June 26, 2021 10:31 AM BST
Two against the field both each way, Dubious Affair, obvious chance after being unlucky at Royal Ascot and seemingly 4lb well in here and Grandmaster Flash, won nicely both times before not getting a run at Chester last time out, happens to quite a few so not out of it at around 20 on here. Have the O'Brien's ever won this race? Good luck whatever you're on.

I wish Hollie was on Trueshan, I dont think he needs a claimer onboard to beat this abysmal field.

Not good enough to give the weight away/needs soft going.
Report wondersobright June 26, 2021 3:42 PM BST
red sectionals all down the back...winner comes from the back under northern jockey who knows the track & fair judge of even pace...nothing to see here Grin
Report howard June 26, 2021 3:44 PM BST
Yeah could have won at the weights but needs soft. His tapeta race win pretty meaningless given the race.
Report penzance June 26, 2021 3:44 PM BST
was close enough during the race. Not good enough
on the day.Fair play to connections for giving it
a go.

Fav never looked happy, jock always
just chivvying him along.

Might have done better sat on the rail,
might want to go other way round.

Who knows.
Report MJK June 26, 2021 3:54 PM BST
Should run that race on the grass outside the chase track
Report Whippin Piccadilly June 26, 2021 4:02 PM BST
Connections must have been gutted the rain didn't come a day earlier at RA. I would suspect that connections won't run the horse again unless they see soft in the going description. Like Howard said, it was just weak race at Wolves for his Novice win.
Report Schraderbrau June 26, 2021 4:46 PM BST
Only ran here to keep the horse ticking along. Jockey either looked a bit weak in the finish or was told to accept his fate if not going to win.
