4am tomorrow morning. Y bf not opened market on this? Surely this is the easiest 10%+ bet of all time??? 1/7 go Hills Crazy Mayweather failing against such a YouTube bum is surely closer to 1/7000 ffs .. or does anyone see value in Paul @ 9/2??? Laugh

Ricky Hatton has unleashed a furious tirade at former opponent Floyd Mayweather, claiming he shows 'total disrespect' to his fans by fighting YouTuber Logan Paul.

'Money' will take on the 24-year-old streaming star on Sunday in a fight which is set to earn the American boxing icon over $100million (£72m) LaughLaughLaugh this weekend.

And former British boxer Hatton, who lost to Mayweather in a WBC welterweight clash in 2007, claims the American 'doesn't give a s***' about either his legacy or his fanbase - and is purely focused on the money aspects of the fight. Laugh

'He doesn’t care. He’s called himself "Money" Mayweather for God sake, that tells you all you need to know! It is all about money with him. Me personally, I thought it was about the fans, the fans pay your wages.

'The fans deserved to be entertained. Floyd isn’t bothered as long as he gets money. It shows total disrespect to his peers and the other great champions of old.

'It seems like he is rubbing it in everyone’s face. In the face of people who work 12 hours a day, seven days a week who can’t even afford a holiday.' LaughLaughLaugh

He may be money mad but I do believe he has serious pride about his fight record. He can continue having his cake an eating it by fighting these type of morons and putting them away with zero fuss..but the moment he stutters against any of them is the moment he'll get clowned. If rematches was in his mind at all he'd surely have used his bout with mouthy McGregor(where he earned over double of what he'll be on here..)

How this fight is allowed to happen is beyond comperehension, but we all know why and the reasons (money and greed) apply to both. FM a 50-0 record and acknowledged by some to be the best pound for pound boxer of all time against a so called You-Tube 'superstar' (i have no idea what he does) who lost his only pro-fight against a similar type of opponent 18 months ago.

FM was a once respected fighter, but has lost it fighting nobodys, the likes of Marciano, Louis, Ali and Frazier et all must be turning in their graves ashamed to be associated by name with what the sport has become.

Hi Stewart,

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floyd_Mayweather_Jr.

Mayweather was named "Fighter of the Decade" for the 2010s by the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA), a two-time winner of The Ring magazine's Fighter of the Year award (1998 and 2007), a three-time winner of the BWAA Fighter of the Year award (2007, 2013, and 2015), and a six-time winner of the Best Fighter ESPY Award (2007–2010, 2012–2014).[1][2] In 2016, Mayweather was ranked by ESPN as the greatest boxer, pound for pound, of the last 25 years.[3] As of May 2021, BoxRec ranks him the greatest boxer of all time, pound for pound.[4][5][6] Many sporting news and boxing websites, including The Ring, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, BoxRec, Fox Sports, and Yahoo! Sports, ranked Mayweather as the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world twice in a span of ten years.[7][8][9][10][11][12]

He is often referred to as the best defensive boxer in history, as well as being the most accurate puncher since the existence of CompuBox, having the highest plus–minus ratio in recorded boxing history.[13][14][15] Mayweather has a record of 26 consecutive wins in world title fights (10 by KO), 23 wins (9 KOs) in lineal title fights, 24 wins (7 KOs) against former or current world titlists, 12 wins (3 KOs) against former or current lineal champions, and 4 wins (1 KO) against International Boxing Hall of Fame inductees. Mayweather was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in the class of 2021.[

May weather is a boxing genius..  giving age and a vast amount of weight would even it our. However It be done in 3 once Logan has punched himself out and may weather has danced around like he always does of the back foot and then picking him off.

The only time FM looked like he could be beat was when manny was in his prime and we all know he avoided that bout at the time, when manny was throwing punches so quick and accurately that money would need to be in the matrix to dodge them all.

If this YouTube millionaire does land one tonight and knocks him down, boxing dies!!

Any one who thinks Mayweather is the goat is deluding themselves.
He is a small guy who dominated the lighter divisions.
Traditionally when that happened the fighter would move up a division. Duran and Leonard did. They put their reps on the line. Hell they went in with hearns and hagler for petes sake.
Mayweather would never dream of doing any such thing.

Sorry no.
no where near the greatest of all times.

Andrew, I'll put up some links tomorrow. Robinson was beyond genius. He won and lost the middleweight title five times. Nobody in the history of boxing has ever done that. And this was when boxing was boxing. Fifteen rounds. Not the mickey mouse twelve now.

That said, the proof of the pudding.....and I'll supply the proof/evidence.

Maywetaher started off as a Super Featherweight, then lightweight, then Super lightweight, Welterweight, Super Welterwight. He even fought De La Hoya at Light middlewight.

What divison would you have liked him to go up to?? Maybe Cruiserweight ??

Saying he didn't move up divisons is utter rubbish and in the vast majority of his fights even from Corrales back at Super Feather he was the smaller man giving up many lbs in his fights.

I get it's popular to hate on him and it's fine to not think he's one of the best ever (technically for me he is) but best sticking to facts and not rubbish to back up your assertion
Report thelatarps June 6, 2021 10:07 PM BST
Mayweather fought one opponent at light middle. The Golden boy who arguably at that stage in his career was more interested in  promoting the fight than actually winning it.
Split decision if memory serves. Job done for Oscar. Mayweather couldnt stop a businessman.  Bodes well for tonight!Wink

Duran started his career at super featherweight and ended up at super middleweight.
'Money' mayweather started off at super feather and ended up at err.. duper welterweight apart from the de la hoya match. Which I dont think oscar was too ersed about to be honest.

Eye red a decent article on it when I woke up this morning. To quote sum of it..

'The most probable outcome'

"Spend enough time thinking, talking or writing about any fight and you may have moments where you begin to believe in the least likely results. Some may have had brief flirtations with the idea of Mayweather going all out and blitzing the Vine-turned-YouTube star to score an emphatic knockout, or even daydreaming of an internet-breaking knockout win for Paul. Stepping back from the insanity of the situation and the media onslaught of the week, the fight going eight rounds was always the thing that made the most sense.

Listening to Mayweather as the fight approached provided plenty of clues as to what to expect. Floyd never went overboard in his promises heading into the fight. Mayweather said, "This is legalized bank robbery. Laugh It's a not a real fight for me, it's a real fight for him." And he made it clear that, "It's entertainment."

Indeed that quote was from Brent Brookhouse, however these were his comments before the macth.

"Give Paul five more years of strong boxing training while Mayweather ages closer to 50 and Mayweather would still be the favorite in a fight. There's no way for Paul to close the experience gap or get to Mayweather's level of technique. That said, Paul's size and strength advantages are very real, a fact of which Mayweather is certainly aware. As such, Mayweather will likely go slow in the opening round, taking in information and formulating his approach to the rest of the fight. While the bluster from Paul's trainer that his jab rivals that of Larry Holmes is clearly nonsense, I have no doubt they have worked extensively on that jab to attempt to keep Mayweather from closing distance and using all his technical advantages. It only makes sense to pick Mayweather here, but his pride does factor in a bit. There will be no on-site judges and no winner announced, which means if Mayweather wants to truly claim victory outside of on a "we all saw it" basis, he's going to have to knock Paul out. I believe he can and will do so around Round 5"
