Was last here in the late 80's, don't remember it being so built up but that could be dementia. Managed to get a free game of golf with a couple of expat's and broke 100, doing the back 9 on Wednesday. After conversing with locals and expats the concencus is,

Bullfighting shouldnt have been banned
Boris is a qhunt
Sardines are cheap as chips
I fancy one at Huntingdon later.

Last time I was in Albufeira it was very hot as well. It was when Portugal won the Euros but we were on a family holiday and the waiters stopped working during the Portugal semi final! I first went to Faro in 1970 when there were more tractors and donkey carets in Faro than cars which has changed somewhat. We prefer to go early March these days when there is plenty of cheap rooms and less traffic. The stretch from Faro to the Spanish border is the best part.

Stayed at Salema few years back, couple of nice restaurants there
Really liked Lagos until my Mrs proposed to me there, sort of ruined the rest of the holiday and the rest of my life come to think about it!!!! True story |

Hire yourself a car - Drive around to the next bay (Westwards) to GALE Beach.
Lovely7 and clean - Nice Cafe - Not overcrowded - and you can then as far as you want along the water's edge in the lovely warm clean Atlantic. Idyllic ... and good for your feet too |

Have you bumped into Zodiac or Fraudy yet Bisto Boy? Skips behind the fast food shops are fav for them where you are i.e Clacton!!!!

Sambucca and lemonade, the lemonade was more expensive than the Sambucca, so switched to neat Sambucca... I'm a real ale man when home, no bitter available, didn't like the Portuguese lager... Hangover from hell a few days |
