Midfield, going okay but dropped to rear home turn, ridden over 1f out, soon bit short of room, in the clear and kept on final furlong, never dangerous (following a stewards' enquiry into running and riding, jockey said his instructions were to jump well and sit handily throughout the race, and ride the race as it unfolded; he added that having ridden the gelding on several occasions, he felt that, as usual it jumped well but then appeared to be outpaced in the early part of the race which was unusual for the gelding as he usually travels well and races prominently; he further added that he had ridden all the way to the line and that, in his opinion, he had obtained the best possible placing; trainer's rep said that the ride accorded with the instructions and that she was satisfied with the ride given; their explanations were noted; vet said a post-race examination revealed the gelding to be coughing) (op 25/1 tchd 28/1)

Is this going to be a regular thing every three weeks or so: a fake multi-gamble on a random no-mark trainer?

I suppose one day it will be genuine and catch out the Betfair layers and backers of the original favourites but Iain Jardine has only had three winners in the whole of 2021, and two of today's runners have not won since 2019 (and a third is a first time out two-year-old, who is actually quite well-bred).

The books prices are such a joke that the place prices on BF are rapidly approaching their win prices!
So it's brilliant to see this massive nationwide gamble is being reflected in the dynamic and highly liquid BF place markets!

13:35 Carlisle - Tomily  - £87 matched
14:45 Carlisle - Jump The Gun  - £20 matched
15:40 Redcar - Wiganese - zero matched
17:00 Carlisle - Flood Defence - £19 matched

Probably an attempt by bookmakers to get some money in on a quiet Monday but if they all win then well done the backers. They are all trading at much bigger prices on here than the ones quoted above.

The one that caught my eye was Tomily purely based on his current hcap mark having dropped from a Turf career high of 91.

But when the vet. just a week ago, reported the thing was 'coughing' after its exertions it's enough to put you off (or away perhaps).

Pound to a penny Jardine will have no knowledge as to where the money has come from and why it's his horses.

If there's no money in racing at the lower echelons connections will increasingly resort to plots to make it pay.(allegedly)

I dont buy this lads. Bookmakers trying to get their money back from a Punter Friendly Saturday. The Racing Post need pulling up on this too ,tryting to drum up interest on a quiet Monday. Stay well away unless you have the prices for a bit of fun.

Win, lose or draw - Some cracking trades already achieved on here for anyone brave enough to suspect it was a "spoof" and/or a couple of hyped-up £5 yankees!

A whopping £33 now matched on the 2YO in the BF PLACE market! LaughLaugh

Probably an algorithm that looks for multiple entries from a yard on some "red list" which collapses the prices of all of them.

On oddschecker it was a sort of steady collapse on most books over two hours or so.  I think it might be a couple of bets that get it started then others pile in thinking something is up.

Well I cannot even get my old mans massive £1 patent on with them as the max stake is 25p (and that's without them being top price), so it is hardly surprising they are ducking away a potential few grand payout, sorry I mean an industry threatening £20 million....

Bookmakers might have laid a few pence at 5/4-7/4 on 20/1 shots.
