Yeah get that howard. But normally horses with runs under their belts are ridden forward in these races. This horse was been strangled early on then finished second last, legless. People are trying to be smart after the event(not you), but on it's two ruins theres no way should it have finished where it did.

Has anyone popped in to say it doesn't happen very often? It seems to be happening with increasing regularity.

They had to know that the horse would handle soft ground (not normally favourable for an Exceed And Excel) and the favourite would run a shocker. Both were achieved with some ease. Morris was all over the place soon after halfway. Perhaps they got the double up with a nice lay on the favourite as well.

Not that hard to try 2yos against decent sprint handicappers and then give them plenty of experience of leaving the stalls upsides a few others. If it is beating 75 rated handicappers, it will win most Thirsk maidens. Plenty of similar ones have flopped when racing for real but this one didn't. If it had finished sixth, we would be reading about a bookmaker plot to suck in gullible punters.

It's amazing that Dave Evans has pulled off a very similar gamble to the Allegsnobrains coup 28 years ago Shocked Allegsnobrain had run once previously,  had been well beaten at 25/1 but was backed on the day from 33/1 to 3/1 to win the seller at Doncaster and made all, never looking in any doubt. My late brother worked with a close friend of the owner, he got the word about an hour before the race and I remember dashing to my local Corals to nick to a bit of 20/1 and staying to watch the race. The main money came late, predominately shop based in those days, before the advent of punting online. The Savill horse started 1/2 fav and finished 3rd.
Am sure Evans landed another massive gamble in more recent years, think it was at Lingfield with a horse going up massively in trip but can't remember it's name.

It looks like another publicity stunt to me but we will find out later. The others quoted by the RP are Jump The Gun, Wiganese and Flood Defence.

Some of the Multiple 'Stable' bets - maybe .... Strange that they are usually on a Monday, though.... when most "Mug Punters" are Far LESS likely to be betting - and, consequently, 'taking note'.

But the Evans/Choux  SINGLE was NOTHING to do with Bookies manipulation - as your post (being on the Choux Thread)  could   imply - clayfield  - and be misunderstood, as such, by some less savvy... given you have decried the Choux gamble a couple of times earlier on the Thread.

The vast majority of Joe Public  "Mug" Punters would be/and still are OBLIVIOUS to the Choux gamble
----------

As regards your earlier post of ...

"Do you think they would be going anything like 20/1 or 12/1 when it is trading on here at say 3/1."

Of course they would not - we all DO know how it works.

How about REVERSING that, though ...
