A terrible day for me. As a 12 year old I had been used to going into the illegal shops without a problem. Once legalised that stopped though a friendly bookie let me go in during the mornings (before racing) only.

Says he wants to see people betting against each other with him being the middleman and holding the stakes.

I can't help thinking he has been made aware of BF's cash cow - the X-matcher. Probably thinks he too can offer 1.02 & 6.00 in a 2 horse race.

Remember when I was in Australia in late 90's a lot of bars would have TAB offices attached to them. Even further back a local working men's club where my dad went had a sub office of a local independent bookie in a shed in the garden of the pub. Think it's an idea worth trying if legislation allows.
