Just going to pick out 5 from all the worst ones . Having watched every race in Britain in Ireland , I’m going to nominate
1. Brian Hughes on Wakool , pathetic attempt , sat motionless on his horse , after going over to the stands side , then gives away the rail , and then the trademark mistake at the last , plus the usual doing the knitting with the reins on the run in
2. Chris Hayes on mehnah , last before the home turn , fails by a head to rein in 80/1 rag , should have won about 3 lengths , any decent rider would have won on it .
3. Alexander Thorne on high counsel , had the race in safe keeping but decided to sit motionless on his horse for 3 furlongs allowing Sean Bowen to get up a head of steam , who then managed to join him , and eventually beat him . He also let him up his inside coming to the last . I’d give this as the worst of the day
4. Ben Jones on playa blanca, must have allowed himself to be hampered half a dozen times by the leader who was constantly shifting right , then throwing it away on the run in by letting his horse drift left . Poor effort
5. Brian Hughes in the bumper at Kelso , letting the race turn into a sprint on a stayer , tracking the wrong horses , letting a horse up his inside , then getting into a barging match , and finally the usual doing the knitting inside the final furlong . Absolutely sorrowful effort

Didn't even have to watch the days racing to hazard a guess that Hughes would make the top 5 !

He made it twice even , just denying Chris Hayes who probably deserved to be included twice also .

Rico , I’ve done plenty over the years , some of my accomplishments are gambling all my life and losing my bolllox, doing a few stints behind bars , then driving around England in a dirty shhitty van , with a load of tellys in the back , going to the races trying to steal a few coppers in running . I’ve often sat at home in my underpants with pictures beamed from some unorthodox channel , laying 2 pounds at 1000 as well . I bet you haven’t achieved as much as that .

I’d say you had the porno channels but I don’t think Netflix was in operation at that stage . I used have a few sky dishes as well , also a sleeping bag , a mattress and a pillow . It was handy to throw myself down in the back of the van when there was a 2 day meeting .

I don't know why kevin prendergast uses hayes, he seems to lose a lot of races that he should win.

I recall Pat Eddery, being asked about Joe Mercer as a jockey, he said he won on the ones that should have won.

No cloone I didn’t , lost my ballcock for years
Chris Hayes if you listen to him speaking , you’d swear he was Lester Piggott . Kevin Prendergast is at the end of his days and is no longer a force , so he’s not going to get a good rider , so Hayes is probably a good fit . I don’t get other people putting him up though , I know there is a scarcity of jockeys but you’d want to be stuck to use him . I remember him firing away the 1000 Guineas in the Curragh one year against finsceal beo, and he’s still throwing away races nearly 20 years later

That’s the horse jimnast,
Portman park, I’m not angry about anything , if I highlight a few bluffers , that’s hardly being angry . Why do people feel the need to blue smoke up fellas holes all the time , and if someone is critical of them , well then they are angry or some sort of lunatic . I can applaud and recognise greatness as quick as anybody but I’m not going to spare any fellow who is performing below par . I do as it happens have a dislike for jockeys , not all of them , but some are really disgusting rats . On the flat I like James Doyle , Hollie Doyle , Buick , Murphy , Crowley , Dawson and Dettori . There are plenty who I can’t abide through either bad attitude , villainry or incompetence . Over jumps I like Cobden , Skelton , Twiston Davies, bass , Jon Jo jr, Sheehan , scudamore, cannon , Jacob , in fact the jumps jockey are a lot more likeable than their flat counterparts. Some real dirt ride on the flat

serious question sean flanagan whats your view on him ?
By:
robo
When: 12 Apr 21 12:13
Jimnast , he’s not one of my favourites , I won’t lie . At the top level he’s certainly lacking , but at the minor meetings where he knows he’s better than most of the others , well then he’s probably at his best . He also rides for a rubbish stable who use out of date tactics , hanging onto horses and invariably giving first run in races . They’d be no stranger to dropping a fav in mid division in a maiden hurdle with 30 runners , where the only other trier in the race is making the running . To answer your question , at the lower levels he’s more than adequate , at the top table , he’s a big liability .

cheers robo that sounds a pretty accurate summing up.
