pablo, it's not the frequency of the highs and lows ,it's the lack of liquidity in between that will drive people away and certainly won't encourage newbies. You want £100 at 10 mid-race on a 10 chance and find out you average out at 8, not attractive.

swifty , i am saying the lack of advertising does nothing to promote the exchanges so how are newbies ever going to know the advantages/enjoyment of in running betting

the death of the exchange started when BCM1 exited the building...
throw in the birth of the sportsbook...
and the crazy commission structure...
and we have ended up the way it is now...
things could and should have been done earlier...
but they were not.

pablo, you are correct the lack of IR advertising which is what the PC budget was supposedly to be spent on is risible. However how can they promote a product which depends on 'live' video when they serve up dross daily? Best the PC goes to the shareholders.

the reason PC was brught in was simple....there were a group of successful winning punters on betfair exchange who were simply winning too much too quickly relative to the other 95% of punters, so Betfair, realising this wasn't good for business, decided one day to tax them heavily
the money was supposed to go into advertising for more "losing" punters to replace the liquidity thee punters were taking, slow the winning down, effectively very similar to restricting bets placed by successful winning punters
but, i don;t recall this money being used to do that, to promote the exchange
think it just goes on the bottom line (profit)

Andyl, the whole ethos of the exchange being a peer to peer platform disappeared the day Bookies were allowed accounts and further compromised when PP bought into said platform.
It is no longer what it was set up to be and has not been for years, the PC is a complete Red Herring and in reality does not exist, not a single Bookmaker pays it.Only a matter of time before investigated by appropriate authorities and huge repercussions?

nah it won't get investigated. trust me. it may get modified or removed going forward. that's not the real reason for the demise of in running but is a factor. the real reasons are deeper and stem from the cross matching robot, the speed of the pics, insider tarding (people playing faster pics) and a recession, lack of credit etc etc imo

They are actually slower at most rtv tracks again on lv. Limerick today has lost .3, just over .6 ahead of lv....lep was .95 last week Most irish are the same, hardly ever get the refesh/blue splodge to make it faster over there now, so speeds in ire are .6ish compared to the .9 it was couple weeks back
Sandown today is only .8 ahead of sky and thats after the refresh. uk were over .9 to 1 second couple weeks back, so again .2 slower
Ireland speeds def need looked at, losing .3ish is not good enough

Leicester and haydock were both 1 second ahead of sky at their last meetings. Today they are .85/.9
So across the board every rtv lv track is slower, losing around .15 in uk and .3ish in ire (they dont even attempt the refresh to go faster ire anymore)
No genuine reason for it. Worked perfectly at its fastest speed. Maybe some werent happy...

Cuckoo, funny you should say that but others outside of forum have said the same about weekends although tbf, it's not just the weekends theyve slowed again now!
Theyve slowed them enough that not many probably notice but enough to keep those who want/need them slowed happy
the track boys will be back soon, cdnt have them only being .4 to .5 behind us pesky lv home players now

Nottingham's fine. It's the ATR tracks that are appalling. First at Yarmouth only had one pause, and I didn't think it was too bad but that shows how bad it's been the last few weeks.

Yes, but it's always been peaks and troughs during that time. I actually tend to prefer ATR to RUK tracks, especially on the flat, but not for the past couple of weeks.

Probably dramatic, will likely bet about a quarter to a tenth of most that post on ere.
But today seems to be a new low, liquidity so dire even my poxy bets dont get taken.
Shambles now.
