I don't like the attempt to paint him in a good light straight away.

The same with all the tweets from girls that appeared during the week saying how they loved working there and how great he was and loved his horses etc.

The only thing changed on some of them was the name and lengthy of time they worked there.

Quite cynical imo.

The very fact they have held this meeting at a secret venue speaks volumes imo. They don't want protestors there putting the pressure. If it was just a run of the mill suspension or whatever they would be quite happy to say where the meeting was.

Despite the detailed and gravity of the accusations and findings by the Panorama programme on Sheikh Mohammed he's yet to volunteer or make legal representation to/or against the programme maker and/or company. Neither has Sheikh Mohammed taken legal action to address the damning remark on his character, and court judgement made against him by the judge in a British court involving the threats on Princess Haya.

For someone like Sheikh Mohammed who's a proven control freak and narcissist and extremely wealthy not challenging the legal outcome or Panorama programme maker and company is certainly an extremely ridiculous and nonsensical behaviour from an innocent person without any guilt. Or is because Sheikh Mohammed cannot buy the legal process and decision or probable outside against him in a British court given the weight of evidence accumulated and his probable guilt?

Every right thinking person knows there is no connection whatsoever.The average man in the street shrugs his shoulders at what goes on in faraway countries ruled by despots;however a buffoon playing the fool with a dead horse is something that is too close to home and is miles away from being acceptable behaviour. When the  BBC and Sky etc then air the story in every news bulletin horse racing comes under scrutiny and those forces who want the sport banned are given easy ammunition.
Elliot's punishment will hopefully reflect the damage he's caused to the industry and to individual lives ;if not the the matter will rumble on and eventually NH racing will go the way of hunting.

Elliot is being investigated about "that" picture that contravenes animal cruelty (even a dead horse) not his training ability. I'd not care less about his presence now. I only want to see the horses, his present is immaterial to me being Cheltenham.

But proportionality in the punishment dished out to Elliot in the scheme of things, I can gladly accept, not ott and idiotic comments not horseracing related. Otherwise, ban the sport in its entirety. And, I can accept that too.

In recent years the sport as internally smashed itself. The public are well aware of the Drugs issue due to the trainers of shakeys horses, they are well aware of the lack of duty of care due to horses starving being injected etc, and now understand how very little horses mean to some trainers.

You cannot just say 'bringing the sport into disrepute'. There are levels of ever charge and this is probably the worst level not the least level. There will be other incidents to guide them and if there are worse incidents then the punishment should be less than handed out for that incident and if there are lesser incidents the punishment must be higher. If this is the worst incident then they have to set the level to ensure that if future incidents occur their hands are not tied.

6 months and 6 months suspended in line with my expectations - his words afterwards and confirmation that he won't be appealing for me are genuine and like he said he'll come back a better person, in the meantime I hope measures are in place to support his staff.  Detractors of the man himself and racing in general unfortunately have ammunition for the foreseeable future however it's time for us to move on and increase our vigilance whether in stables, racing yards or racecourses to ensure the horses are ALWAYS put first. I look forward to seeing G Elliott on racecards again.

I think the IHRB has done well. They have surpassed most estimation of them ever delivering a sensible verdict which fits the crime eg it's not animal cruelty, but extremely bad taste nevertheless.

The loss to his reputation and personal abuse he will no doubt receive will last long after the ban has been served so I would agree that the IRHB have probably delivered a sensible verdict.
