FIGHTING FIFTH HURDLE

I wouldn't take Altior being worked over as as a sign.....he is regularly'worked' over in his races until the tough bit at the end when the opposition usually crumbles.

It is a race that should be avoided at all costs in terms of having a punt,purely from my own experiences going back to Birds Nest,Beacon Light et al.

I think the only profit I ever made was from The French Furze!!! That is mostly true,if all is correct from 7b then the mare should win easily and 4/6 will look a gift after,would I back her at 4/6?

Too late to say no,backed her to a fair loss,7b are convinced she is going for a schooling session,when they feel that confident,short of half a hurdle being stuck in her neck she will win.

Is this race nrnb? Evens and good ground a bonus for loyal backers, I believe.

Evens is a very big price for a horse who hacked up in the Champion ......you have to wonder what the bookies know.
I would have expected 1/2 against this lot.

I'd not worry too much. The ground is ideal, and horse has always performed 1st time out; Sceau Royal has always flattered to deceived (hurdle and fences). Silver Streak was beaten convincingly in March.

If she turns up game over, I firmly believe.

Silver Streak will like the ground. A bigger danger than Sceau Royal, I believe.

Got Epatante in alot of antepost, the ground will be NO RISK AT ALL won easily on it.

I don’t get a lot of peoples thinking and sometimes think people have been sucking on a gas can when they say horses like epatante should be 2 on in a race like this. Yes she should win but it has to remembered all of her opponents have had a prep run and are fit and aren’t mugs, so she will have to be at her best to win at the odds available on Saturday and fair play if she gets it done off the lay off. Easy money some may feel but the odds available are correct but to say she should be long odds on is a mile off imo

I'm not normally into backing horses at evens but that looks more than fair against this rabble.

£645k already matched, some have got serious views on this race.

I'm having a big bet (for me). Fillet steak or beans on toast tomorrow night.

Aiden is a worry imo, too many bad rides and even Timeform had Ben Jones (3) as a jockey uplift over him. No bet race for me.

There are not many next time out winners over hurdles to have come out of any of Epatante's hurdle races that she has won, maybe its temopting the bookies to be a bit on the generous side with her price today?

Sceau Royal is exposed, and won a very week race last time; Silver Streak has ground on his side, but seldom wins. A lack of fitness could be the undoing of Epatante, but trainer has a good record here with his only runner; 2.1 is a good price.

race puts to bed all this shoite horsey people tellus about horses loving to jump,not so sleepy ran around every hurdle,

winner the only horse not fcked about, bang lay at thin price for champion hurdle imo

nice to see but mares shouldn't get 7lb imo. Meant a champion hurdler gets it in this race which is stupid.

Mark Johnson always overdoes the fighting fifth commentary.

She has beaten the best 2 mile hurdler so far this season on the bridle. Tell me what you would back to beat her? Tom O'Brien should really have been awake to what Not So Sleepy would do though.

Stupid to show us the jockey on the ground as they approached the last hurdle first time around, it always looked like something could happen. I feel like a lot of the people who decide camera angles aren't even interested in the sport.

15/8 with PP. That is a bit short with so many things that can go wrong in 4 months. I would prefer even money on the day.

fitzy wasnt worried about favs drift despite seeing horse all week but went against a hendo horse and put silver streak up ew with 2 places

Back 15/8 with 'paddi', lay off here as time progresses; win, win. She'll be a lot shorter on race day for sure as proper opposition is looking very thin even now; 4/6 at best on the day, if showing up. The 7lb allowance is a mega bonus.

Some odd reactions about the race,not least about whether she is value for the CH? IMO she is not value at the prices,would want a "with a run" provisio before backing her.

She did what 7b hoped she would do and was very impressive,the runner up is useful as a yardstick and not hard to think she could have won 20L+ had Coleman so wished.As Sageform states "I would rather be on at evens on the day" than backing her now.

that 7 ibs makes it awful hard for the geldings....only one i could see giving her a race is honeysuckle but she is not a certain runner
