will cause plenty of confusion, if you live in a higher tier you wouldn't be allowed to go to a lower tier event, they are then talking of higher tiers than pre lockdown, whole thing is a mess

Agree = Stupid idea.

How on earth can you try and manage tis - and Football - on a piecemeal basis.

Either everybody - or nobody.

for racing members will be first port of call for a ticket so unlikely the average fan will get to a decent meeting, could see wolvs manage to get a crowd over 200 on a weds night though

Money .....how does 4,000 help Premier League clubs who get 50 , 60 or 70 thousand fans .....or Cheltenham who get quarter of a million in March?

More likely antagonism on who gets a ticket and for what game/meeting.

not helping the bigger events/clubs but will help smaller venues and lower league teams to survive, bigger picture
By:

When: 23 Nov 20 17:13
Premier league clubs are last on the list that need help as Elise says its the lower leagues and smaller attended events that need spectators to survive. EPL will be just fine as the pandemic fizzles out...

The 4,000 figure is ample enough for 90% of jumps meetings.

It is simply not going to happen according to a highly placed mate on the backbench.

I think it’s great news. I’ve been racing twice in last couple of months and the setup is extremely safe.

if a vaccine is on line and fast testing, i can't see any reason why you shouldn't be allowed to go racing with a bit of paper that say's you're safe or immunised or both, we could have some normality by spring

Well Elise the chances of you getting the vaccine by next Thursday may be slim but your point is correct!! 1 day after lockdown 4000 at the races, bonkers!. Anyway better late than never, hope all that want to go racing get a chance asap.

i did mean post xmas, but frankly the facical changes that this gov seem to make from week to week i'm beginning to think if you have a bklue peter badge they'll probably decide you're qualified to be a doctor

What difference will having a substantial meal make if you go to the Pub  i'd assume they think if you're sat down rather than mingling there's less chance of spreading the virus

what made me laugh was there was a news item recently where they went and tested the surfaces, doors, etc within coffee shops, supermarkets and the like, then sent the results for testing, there was little evidence of covid but they did find large amounts of excrement especially in costa coffee .... best get take aways

Why is it so difficult for the UK to understand? Movement and interaction of people is what SPREADS the virus?

So here is why my friend on the back benches says the introduction of spectators will not/should not happen this side of spring..............just for horseracing btw.

It cannot be localised, most of the movement will come from outside any area even deemed to be of a low risk/low level area and therefore import potential risk into even a sterile area.

Common sense imvho?

at least its a good step in the right direction..especially for small racecourses in the rural areas and lower division football teams(contrary to the media agenda there is football below the premier league) and county cricket next season
