1963

#3 was 1963. Remember because it was one of the first 45's I bought out of my pocket money (first was Tommy Steele Singing the blues & I was gutted that I didn't get any records at Christmas that year so it incentivised me to be a saver to buy records the following year).

Lee, Singing the Blues was back in 50s.

Report sparrow October 20, 2020 5:48 PM BST
I do remember it James but not my sort of music really.

Tiger, you're right I did google itLaugh

But only to find out about Tommy Steele. I knew for certain what year Diamonds was #1 also I can't believe that I said Singing the Blues was the first record I ever bought, it was actually Water water/Handful of songsCry The one that really got me hooked must have been Telstar by the Tornados

OK thanks Sparrow. Like I said I googled Tommy Steele after I'd typed the answer, that probably explains why my post appeared 3 mins after yours
