It was actually "Mother Earth" who finished third, not "Snowfall."

Easily done. Move on.

Easily done?

Is this a fishing thread?

Completely amateurish from one of the world's leading trainers.

All this discovered after the weigh in so anyone that layed the 50/1 snowfall for a place loses their money on here ?  When a "better horse " ran the race ?

Mother Earth place backers and Snowfall place layers will feel even sicker than they did @ 15:35

And the place backers of the 4th won't get paid when it's placed 3rd.

^ That's pushing it though - They both ran - so one of them would be 3rd anyway

3rd horse home - Just carried Wrong number cloth - that is all.

4th Place Backers have No case, nor gripe, therefore

4th Place connections get a 'result', though - as they will now get £43,000 3rd Place money - as opposed to £21k for 4th

Will the 4th placed horse connections get 3rd or will that go rightly to Mother Earth which should be in the form book.

Wasn't the incorrect horse and jockey in the stalls on these two ?

if so backers do indeed have a valid gripe.

from racingpost ...

Mother Earth, who actually finished third as opposed to Snowfall, as per the result, will now face disqualification, although no formal action has yet been taken. O'Brien will also likely face a hefty fine.
--------------

I would imagine that Snowfall will be (technically) Disqualified (from revised 8th) too - as both horsed carried wrong equipment - that being the   Number Cloth.

At least the form stood up Mother earth rated 10lbs higher beat Snowfall rated 92 by 11 lengths. My question is are these checks done every race or random ones? TIA.

What  CHECK, though - We now have to ask

Aidan O'Brien said ....

"I didn't see the race live and when I looked at the replay after it was brought to my attention, I could see straight away," he said.

"I contacted the BHA straight away and let them know

THAT infers that the BHA DID NOT do the 'Check' --- IF there actually is  one - POST RACE.
-----------------

This open a right box of tricks with multiple Entries from the SAME Trainer.

Strewth - sitwosix.

As if Aidan 'owes them'

- also - It is not as if a WINNER has been Disqualified - which would affect the Breeding angle far more

£43,000 3rd Place Prize-Money absolutely inconsequential in the scheme of the Coolmore operation.

Not a bad word will be said.

onlooker , if this had been discovered before the weigh-in the backers of the 4th past the post would have been paid each-way.

if a horse with a white sock can get away with it ,in a supposedly extra checks era after it happened before,it could have been happening every week a year ago with no one knowing
