i heard them shouting and screaming before during and after in at least a couple of races...

as the winner goes by in the last race they are running down from the stands to the railings next to the track...

behaving like little children having had one or two too many pints of lager...

we don't want people like that in racing...

no doubt Redcar racecourse will just ignore it and pretend it didn't happen...

looked awful...

sounded awful...

is awful...

Absolutely on the money Hibby, morons is perhaps too kind a word.A minimum 5 year ban from all courses should be immediate and send a warning, anything less and the impact they have made could prove costly in many respects to the industry.Hardly shows how responsible and serious the industry is if just ignored?
Report HappyHibby September 15, 2020 6:42 PM BST
thank you for your support regarding this matter glentoby...

i rather think the response will be something more like...

'we feel sorry for these lovely human beings and we will be offering them a weekend at Peebles Hydro with slap up meals thrown in so that they can discuss their actions with a counselor'...

It was OTT and rowdy behaviour, but drink and common sense don`t go well together.

System99 is right, the lack of a crowd simply made it sound worse than it probably was.

That may be the case MM but when the industry is suffering so badly it was the last thing anyone wanted or needed,it goes beyond exhuberance and TBH there seemed no actual reason for the behaviour. How can the industry hold itself up as an example to other sports as safe for spectators to return?

In Ireland they have hammered a few for individual indiscretions and rightly so as the consequences hardly bear thinking about for the future of the sport?

not good when a few clowns spoil it for the masses...

unfortunately it happens way too often for my liking...

but they don't give a t0$$...

they'll probably put the replay of the races on their facebook page and show their mates how clever they were...

awful.
Report system99 September 15, 2020 7:18 PM BST
were they swearing for all to hear? bumping into stuff knocking it over?

as I say I never saw, sounds like the sort of stuff I'd chuckle to myself and mumble "knobs" at , but there's  no rules say u can't be a kn0b, that event may well live in the guys memory the rest of his life.

but to say threatens future racing or get the course in trouble why? seems as dramatic a claim as their antics, I have never looked at covid protocol  or rules n regs but can't see how it can break them, muted celebrations would be a new one to me...

When your running for that sort of prize money so presumably you have to have your hard earned on to make it pay or even make it worthwhile.... is a lot of shouting and a bit of running around 20 yards a back and forth really harmful?

Also presuming they were genuine...these are the very people that are keeping horse racing going...connections.

Also whats the difference between kids running around and shouting in a soft play or park environment? Kids wouldnt know any better but stuff have the same ability to carry and spread?

Just watched it back, two middle aged blokes, one who looked like he had a bottle of beer in his hand, acting like a couple of yobs at a football match after their team had scored.

Bad enough at the best of times, never mind when owners who can behave themselves, are lucky to be able to see their horses run at the courses currently.

A couple of older gentlemen, who were probably thinking 'wtf?', looked like they couldn't wait to get out of there.
