I had the second, Noonan made no attempt to correct the horse, a poor jockey

yes they can place the winner 3rd if they decide that the 3rd placed horse would have finished in front of it without the interference.
i laud the 2nd coming to last..it couldnt win then..winner was always holding the 3rd and it wouldnt have won..great price to stand imo
You'd be hard pushed to say the winner wasnt the best horse and woudnt had won
The disadvantage would be that there isn't much incentive for the jockey of the 3rd to try and suggest he'd have won the race as he can't get the race. Still wouldn't want to bet 1.1 for it to keep it though.
The winner will be placed behind the 3rd if the stewards feel the third would have won.Probably keeps it but not a certainty with the jockey doing nothing to stop the hanging.No betfor me.
As an aside could Broome have been a little harder in the last couple of strides to get second?
Poppydog - it was trading at 1000 around the turn into the straight yet was only 2 lengths behind at most and wasn't travelling that badly. About 10 to 15 would have been a sensible price at the time but 1000? Very odd indeed.
hardly blame the jock..it done what dozens have done..dived for the cut away to stables.
