Nice to hear from you guys..shame there is'nt a forum for like minded souls rather than the nonsence that generally is on the

main Racing forum!

At precisely midnight last Sunday night (13/01/2002), a small piece of cyberspace winked out of existence. They closed down the server, pulled the plug from the socket, and that was the end of flutter.com. Flutter charged a flat-rate commission of 2.5% on winnings. Betfair, for practical terms, charge between 4 and 5%.  A couple of days before Christmas, it was announced that Flutter was "merging" with Betfair. The merger was, in fact, nothing of the sort. Betfair had taken over, and from last Monday it controlled 98% of the exchange betting market. Punters used to Flutter's rate of commission must now pay twice as much for their pleasure, and use a site which feels painfully slow by comparison.

Oh the good old days.

I was a 'flutter' member too EMR - maybe that's why we both joined here same day!

Report stu June 6, 2020 7:36 PM BST
The old days indeed, though fun for sure, a little more cumbersome methods for matching bets between players than the modern exchange. Have fond memories though.

Nearly everybody accesses the Forum from their Bookmarks, nowadays.

Simply Bookmark the Forum ..............

https://community.betfair.com/horse_racing/go/forum/view/94102/165750/horse-racing

- and open it up in a separate Window.

The benefit is also that - The Forum is on a separate Server -

- So if the Main Betting Site CRASHES - The Forum (usually) REMAINS OPEN for you in that separate Window - so posters can continue to communicate with each other, whilst the main Betting Site is down.

Thanks onlooker i have already done that after googling for it. but there should still be a link on the main site to use for anyone who's new to Betfair.
