Paddy Power Betfair bought a pup........The agreed merger between the two groups completed this morning with a 100% Share deal with Flutter issuing 70 million new shares and taking on 3 billion of Star Groups debt............The Earning to turnover of the group is 25 to one .........Gvg WH runs at 5 to 1 and 7 to 1........People will think Pokerstars will bring a flood of American customers but Pokerstars only operates in two states and has been in decline for years........Recently many feel the site is **** with serious problems of people re-joining since the covid and if winning having their A/Cs banned and funds frozen.......Serious players dont touch the site...........Bad mistake by Flutter can see the shares tank in the next 6 months..........With the new shares been issued they will hit the market as top brass in both companies will be looking at the lofty valuation comes under scruntiny as i said taking on 3 billion debt is wrong time to take it on with most companies looking to raise liquidity taking on 3 billion seems bad business.....ive shorted today and happy enough think theyre posting full year profits on 18th of May year ends 31/03/2020............Sports betting in group decomated by covid now also effecting SKYBETTING never used them but part of Stars...........Just my views non professional shares can rise or fall im hoping for later

People will think Pokerstars will bring a flood of American customers

What people think that?  Flutter already operates TVG all over the USA and the exchange in NJ.  It almost def has more US customers than Stars.

Serious players dont touch the site.  Really so 200,000 players are mugs and not big winners?

I assume by "serious" he means "bum hunters" - who just sit around waiting for a really bad player or he could mean people who use prohibited software to gain an edge and stars is the best at identifying these.

Also

The Earning to turnover of the group is 25 to one .........Gvg WH runs at 5 to 1 and 7 to 1

I can't possibly see that is correct other than sports/horses as casino games etc have a much lower earning/turnover.  So Stars poker earnings/turnover is obviously going to be lower.

I read reviews on Pokerstars from players admittedly is the largest pokersite in world but many questioning integrity of site......with bad beats being impossible on normal probability.........many players returning after absenses saying the site has changed and are convinced the cards on the river and turn are fixed for bad beats...........players been banned after winning and accounts frozen.........zero customer services to resolve disputes..........on anther thread on the s and p 500 i said it was trading at 3958 it would fall and i was shorting Ryanair.......im happy to short Flutter all day and we,ll see in a month how theyve preformed ive no interest in arguing with people here..........Just as we have no racing if people have used Stock Market to supplement incomes are have any opinions.........gd luck

After years and years of "fixed turn and river cards"

They employ thousands of people

Why hasnt one of them ever came out....and said yeah its fixed?

Why did Flutter not find a suitor like Bet365, the money-making machine with a head honcho the equivalent of Frankel in the betting world? I think this tie-up defies logic, and not in the interest of shareholders except the senior management teams of both.

@bustino you might well be correct but not for any of the reasons you state.  These big mergers are usually "failures" because the synergies never materialise.

Impossible is right BET365 would have been a gd fit.......i dont know off my head what bet365 operating profits were 600/700 hundred million.........Stars Groups operating profits for 2019 were 129 million........Flutter have paid 10 billion to merge both companies

One does not share a cash cow like Bet365. It's privately (93%) own, and no one can force a change of ownership unless Denise Coates (50%) jumps ship; pre-tax profit £800m (2018/2019) and increase of 17%. Year 2019/2020?

A matter of time it makes £1bn esp when it makes a successful inroad into China.

Dont know how thread meandered to talking about bet365 and the Coates family but i will stand by my assertion that the merger that actually happened was between Flutter ent and the Stars group i have personally shorted the stock and am confident by next quaters results the stock to fall in the region of 30%...

I only post the stocks i invest in and think there is an interesting stock Fivrr (FVRR) which posts its results at 12.05 uk time tommorrow. It is an Israeli company who connects buyers and sellers in the gig economy together for IT based solutions be it from having ur business card designed to having ur Accounts done to editing Videos into a presentation,,,,,its a platform that offers hundreds of services.......With many at home looking to supplement incomes and many companies realizing and streamlining their businesses i see Fiverr benefiting by Covid 19 in a similar but less flashy manner to Zoom.........I stumbled across the stock by accident as my brother who is a euthuastic film maker and videographer said he uses Fivrr regularly for mundane stuff that saves him many hours......I bought a couple of hundred shares at 20 they are currently at 42 dollars and topped up yesterday at 40 dollars.

I am exspecting strong figures tommorrow and forcasts for serious growth......Its the no 1 company in the fast growing gig ecomomy providers UPWORK being a similar company but the concenses is that Fivrr is the better platform.......its a mid size company market cap of 700 million dollars and tends to rise fast two days it rose 20% and often rises 5/6 % daily as it dosent take huge volumes of demand to move stock...its been good to me so far and as i said will be posting its 1st quater results 12.05 tommorrow if u go to the investor part of site u can watch the podcast online
