i think most of us have realised the time we spent in various ways on game

pretty sure most will vastly reduce that time to do other things

Attitudes how we spend our money has changed forever. Im sure there will be a dramatic reduction in online betting. Let shope people stay well away from the slots casino games.

Time the bookies showed a bit of interest in average punters.

Take myself as an example.

Betting in £20-100 a go.

Not a winner lifetime, cant get a bet on with them.

Why would there be any change, you can still play them now 24 hours a day now with the lockdown.

There will be an increase for a while.
Report hello :-) April 17, 2020 12:53 PM BST
im thinking your right sparrow , long term it will be a fight to get most devoting anything like the time they once did

life and how we spend it is changed irreversibly

We are a nation of gamblers, I cant see any difference long term, when we get back to some sort of normality.
Report Fashion Fever April 17, 2020 1:50 PM BST
not a chance, punters back to there oldways within weeks
Report Baphornet April 17, 2020 2:02 PM BST
it will probably initiate even more gamblers & make the already initiated even worserer

An interesting question and only time will tell ,but I'm certainly going to be laying and not backing once racing returns.

I think an increase will happen as people will want to enjoy themselves and realise how short life is and you can't take it with you, me for one can't wait. Think people like you'r mate will realise how much ammunition they now have, turnover through the roof, bookies shares soar.

I agree with san

On another topic I do think the pubs will lose a lot of business.

I wonder how the horse racing markets will be when we get back? Alot of unfit horses perhaps? Also trainers will be wanting to heavily punt there horses, to regain some lost revenues.

Spelling and grammer was never one of my strong points!

I think those choosing to live month from month, will realise how fragile their financial position is and this will hopefully be more than gentle reminder to make some provision.

Hopefully this will translate into less overall spend (not just on gambling, but holidays and other luxuries).  Also, a reminder that carrying any sort of personal debt really is dangerous, when you can go from seemingly stable circumstances to unemployed in the blink of an eye
Report foxy April 17, 2020 3:39 PM BST
I think so chavman

At least Credit Cards are banned now, almost didnt feel real betting with them.

I have been gambling since I was 13 but I could get used to this not losing money lark quite easily.

There’s a looming world recession pretty much guaranteed so everything will ‘reduce’....except Amazon that will just peg back a little on share price and then continue to take over the world.

High street bookies will burn on the pyre and go the same way as most ‘real world’ retail, online will grow...except slots and bingo that will rightly get smashed under the regulator’s hammer.

In recessions betting and drinking hold up better than anything else.

Not if Betfair were to reintroduce exchange multiples(a long shot i know but Prayers finally answered with return of Tote ten to Follow) in that instance i feel betting would substantially increase
