Fair enough...

I was thinking about it...but couldn't work out the implied chance of:

Racing June 1st but no Ascot still?

Dont think Ascot is a good 7/4 shot cos if racing goes ahead at 10/11...your essentially saying Ascot is then only a 2/5 chance to go (knowing that racing is going ahead by June1st), id say if we absolutely knew racing would restart by June 1st...I'd still have Ascot to go ahead in the 4/5 to EVS bracket? (on the basis of crowd revenue lost and the top grade patterns are broken if they are the first to race?)

Cant get away from the fact with my argument I should be backing 1st of JUNE YES with my biggest ever bet though....only thing stopping me is the want for racing to go ahead June 1st...if it didnt I would feel like ive lost twice.

your biggest bet ever should be 1.04 no...bank interest is 0.1% a yr.

Cant disagree now with that.

But lumping a full 4 grand betting bank to make £160 rightly or wrongly would put me on edge for the best part of 2 weeks for £160Laugh

An article I read yesterday suggests racing behind closed doors is not as likely as those make out.... for it to work all jockeys and staff would have to agree to stay onsite for however long racing is run behind closed doors so away from family e.t.c, only people to leave the site would be the horses and one horse box driver and they are tested in and out everyday, once they sign up for the purposes of racing behind closed doors the majority of those involved are then isolated for however long from the outside world....... that was the model that was being described not sure how many would be willing to sign up for that and if it could work any other way

I can't imagine Ascot possibly going ahead, behind closed doors or otherwise. August at the earliest imo.

your right racing regular

even if they were able to lift restrictions , not just racing but most things

they cant lift the risks and they cant lift the fear attached for many , esp older demographic prevelant in racing

1st June would be my guess.

France has just extended their lockdown until 11th May & as we're about 2 weeks behind France on the pandemic cycle, I'd expect our lockdown to continue until about 25th May.

There won't be a vaccine for at least a year so it's fair to assume that any industry that encourages public gatherings is going to be far far down the pecking order when the releases begin, there is also a chance and Italy have mentioned this that these industries might even be on lock down "until" a vaccine is rolled out, so I reckon that racing, in front of the public could be as far away as the Winter, perhaps next year even!!! anyway, November 2nd Grin

That's a very good point, applies to all sports!

Our perspective of crowds has changed, certainly until a vaccine is found!

you think the bha will get 2 ambulances per course for a bank holiday weekend in may ….  do you inject into the eyeballs on a regular basis or just now and again?

Obviously, racing will only go ahead behind closed doors.

?ow long is behind closed doors financially feasible for the racecourses, I mean, in recent years they've felt the need to get Buck Fizz et al to do a turn after racing to boost the coffers with racegoers already in attendance.
