Got hampered badly twice earlier in the race by fallers.
And then again at the final fence.

in football terms the wings could be seen as the post or crossbar so when the ball goes in the net after hitting the bar or post its a goal. I wonder if the wing of the fence acts as a crossbar/goalpost if so result stands

A good-quality handicap chase and there was late drama, setting up an exciting finish, after the winner all but carried out stablemate Capeland, the pair almost coming to a standstill having been clear. The winner had to survive a Stewards', but there was never much doubt he'd lose it.

Report leif November 3, 2019 8:50 AM GMT
Had the winner not been following the loose hoss, having caught the corner of its eye it could have been a disqualification. Probably mitigated for that one reason (as a guess).

Could have gone either way but stewards may just have weighed things up slightly in favour of the winner.

All sorts of stuff happening at the same corner of the circus ring there.

The winner trading at 4/5 at one point during the enquiry.

there's no way she's that gracious if it wasn't another PN horse that won. imagine it was a gold cup and that happened. winner would have been DQ'd for sure for impeding the running on 2nd

Imop the stewards have wrongly let it keep the race seeing as Capelabd was also trained by Nicholls, something that shouldn't even come into it.

Report leif November 3, 2019 9:49 AM GMT
valid point she may have been looking after the hand that feeds her but she did say it in the heat of battle and called the result before anyone else.

You'd hope that in the interest of consistency it matters not whether its a 2k claiming hurdle, or a Gold Cup the stewards would call the same result.

To suggest Bryony was going to ask the winner to be disqualified ,with no advantage to her ,was naive at best.Nicholls  trained the winner
,why would she want another stable to take the prize. To me the rules are inadequate as they stand. How you can put other horses out of the contest, and not be disqualified seems ludicrous to me .Nothing will change, alas.
