Unexpected Depth

Not bad point form, paid a few quid for it and some promise on hurdling debut. Then you get a performance like that where the horse is never positioned to have any chance whatsoever. I think it made a little bit of late headway into ninth. Basically, it was ridden like a rubbish 100/1 shot.

Too often these novice hurdles have a million runners but most of the field are effectively in a schooling race.
