Not much of a loss given the field sizes.
Report jimeen January 18, 2019 8:38 AM GMT
How is it not much of a loss , it was far and away the best punting card of the day . What do you want to be betting on ?,  Chepstow where every race is nearly impossible to solve or maybe the AW where every race is as bennt as a corkscrew.

Haydock inspect in morning risk of snow apparently.
Report foxy January 18, 2019 8:49 AM GMT
good morning ribero

do the racecourses not want people turning up anymore an inspection called over 24hours before the fixture in case of snow of which none is forecast.
Report ribero1 January 18, 2019 8:56 AM GMT
I agree foxy, just seen forecast, looks ok to me.

brian

it will be a loss to many people, owners with runners who were looking forward to see there horses run, workers depending on there wages, people who had planned a day out for a special occasion, pubs and restaurants hoping for extra trade both before and after racing,if a card does not suit just avoid it.
Report duncan idaho January 18, 2019 9:34 AM GMT
only 30 horses declared...the game goes on
Report jimeen January 18, 2019 10:04 AM GMT
Brian is probably one of many punters who’d like to have 10 losing bets on impossible races than actually backing winners at short prices in small fields.

It was also Racing TVs club day today at Mussleburgh.  I was looking forward to it but knew last night with the freezing temperatures in and around Edinburgh it was doubtful.  I hope they will reschedule the Club day to a future meeting

kirkland confident haydock will be on tomorrow, which means it's bound to be off.Laugh

I agree with jimeen.

The first step in successful punting is to find the right races to bet on.
Report iamajambo January 18, 2019 11:52 AM GMT
There's going to be a lot of fixtures abandoned over the next couple of weeks.

We can look forward to lots of 'Jumpers Bumpers'on the All Weather.Cry

Scuppered a Yank's visit.

On the other side, a frozen off meeting is the least of his worries, given the torture of having to watch Stoke City over the past few years.

I'd suggest the first step, is to back a horse with the best chance of winning
Report One Nation January 19, 2019 1:10 PM GMT
There's no point backing the horse with the best chance of winning if it's half the price it should be.

Would you back Altior at 1.01 prerace?
