Shocking to see the the suited "gent"  incharge of the saddling area boxes at Chepstow yesterday punching a horse in the head not once but twice after taking the horse back into the last horse box to rearrange the bridle after he spotted a problem with the tack as the horse was being led out after Alan King had saddled the horse

The horse was lead out of it's box and connections and Alan King  left to go to the parade ring the Suited "gent" then noticed something wrong with the bride and took the horse into the last box and tried to adjust the bridle before striking the horse who was being held by the person leading up the horse , who then  made their way to the parade ring while the "suited gent" just stayed hanging around the last box. he could have been connected to the stable but he looked to be just patrolling the area as i left to go and  watch the race

ive seen it happen several times acey. And ive seen no one else bat an eyelid as if it's normal. And ive seen horses broken-in which is basically "breaking their spirit" and can be quite rough. And ive seen horses bullied onto the horsebox. It's a brutal game at times.

The fear, 2 wrongs dont make a right, no excuse to punch ( if it was ) a horse in those circumstances imo.

so

he could have been

incharge of the saddling area boxes at Chepstow

or

he could have been connected to the stable

Sometimes without being cruel, you have to show who’s the master.
Keep ‘em honest.

Dont think Saxon said that now did he Mr twister of words man.Crazy

Of cause you have to show 1/2 ton of horse whos the boss sometimes, but there are other ways surely. like sometimes you  have to show a dog who is in charge.

But as a lover of all animals any cruilty whatsoever they should as denz said be strung up by the goolies

The person in question is very likely to be Alan King's traveling head lad. Only the trainer or his assistants would interfere with a horses tack.

The ramifications should anything go wrong would be beyond the maximum liability that a racecourse could afford.

You could be right ,i watched Alan King saddle the horse the lass started to walk the horse towards the parade ring the "suited gent " a tall slim man reached out and tried to adjust the tack he then told the lass leading the horse to go into the last box before the pre parade ring where he punched the horse twice in the head before adjusting the headgear , she made her way to the parade ring he just hung around the last box and was hanging around the same area after the next race.
