I'll start the ball rolling, U.S. Navy Flag is my nap today, tough as old boots and sure to make them all go again today, riding from the front at Ascot is a tough task for sure, but he'll be out of trouble turning in and just might hold them all at bay...

3.05 Calyx
Report stratfordman June 19, 2018 9:59 AM BST
3.05 Calyx, 11/4 with some firms, Gosdens best 2yo by a mile and after today will be single figures for next years guineas. You can still get 20/1 for next year too!!!
Report granitjack June 19, 2018 10:06 AM BST

Report Johnny_Mustang June 19, 2018 10:36 AM BST
If anybody else trained Romanised he'd be much shorter than the current 7/1 and that's far too big. Consistency is a worry, but he's already a Guineas winner and runner-up to Masar as a juvenile and I think that's the best form in the race.

Backed Laraaib ante post @ 7/1 ew. Gutted with the draw!!!!! 15/16 :-(  would have been very sweet on him with a lowish draw.
Had a couple of £££ on Battaash 11/4 & Tip Two Win ew 6/1.
Gd luck all.
Report sageform June 19, 2018 12:28 PM BST
Cosmic Law, Tipped to Win and Laraaib all on my list as well with Battaash a last minute bet if he behaves himself and the market is in his favour. I will probably back Calyx as well close to start time but a rather green horse in a field of 24 is a negative.

Report winningthought June 19, 2018 12:54 PM BST
Just a quick Q. On the straight course are high or low stall numbers on the stands side?
Report bluff June 19, 2018 1:08 PM BST
Sergei Prokofiev for the Irish wizard.3.05
Report sageform June 19, 2018 1:09 PM BST
My understanding is that low numbers are on the inside of a round course and therefore the far rail on the straight course would be low and stands side high.
Report winningthought June 19, 2018 1:12 PM BST
Thanks sage, I haven't picked a horse in the first so I can check that race (str. course).
Report sageform June 19, 2018 1:17 PM BST
If there is a bias, Recoletos and Calyx are both drawn 1 on the straight course. Lady Aurelia and Battaash are both drawn close together in the middle.
Report LoyalHoncho June 19, 2018 1:24 PM BST
The usual deluge of p**fters and fa**ots, braodcast live by TV, discussing ladies clothing, is my tip for every day.
Thank goodness for NH racing and the Cheltenham festival!
Report winningthought June 19, 2018 1:25 PM BST
15 runners in the first means they will probably group together down the middle. Might get one or two that risk searching for better ground, but will be hard to sense a bias from that alone (unless they scoot up!).

23 runners in the second race might tell us more.
Report mouse muldoon June 19, 2018 1:25 PM BST
Don't they use the notorious heterosexual Alan Carr to promote Cheltenham?
Report sageform June 19, 2018 1:31 PM BST
Honcho, it is sad to se RUK infected by the fashion thing and even advertising bollie for goodness sake. It costs me £300 a year to subscribe to them so I expect to see racing whenever possible and good interviews with connections in between.
Report LoyalHoncho June 19, 2018 1:33 PM BST
Agreed sage.  It is so bad now we are letting them away with it without demur!
How long before we are subjected to a "Trans" Day at R.A.?  Can't be far away as the patrons of "Diversity" Tower get with the programme! Laugh

Report Deerhunter June 19, 2018 2:28 PM BST
Yucatan in the last has a decent shout, then Battalion in the 5.00 has become fairly well handicapped and the Osborne/Spencer combo often clicks at Ascot so at around 150's on here might not be a complete no hoper. The big step up in trip is the unknown but u never know, worth a small play at big odds maybe.

One of the most interesting races of the festival about to unravel, always worth noting the winner of this....

Report sageform June 19, 2018 5:00 PM BST
Hasn't run much but the mere fact that he is running it suggests it has a chance. Dansili a great sire.

Report SlippyBlue June 19, 2018 5:08 PM BST
Indeed sageform, that's quite an astonishing feat.
Report sageform June 19, 2018 5:23 PM BST
Stoute has 2 chances in the last but Ryan isn't riding them. I'm sure he would be let off Yucatan if they were fancied.
Report workrider June 20, 2018 9:50 AM BST
Hydrangea carries my money today, Ryan can't get this wrong , out and gone should be his motto on this. No room for error, I think her Curragh run was the prep she needed and the market that day spoke accordingly ....

5.00 Full Moon - Bet with a couple of the 6 and 7 place firms. Will be betting on the enhanced place terms on here. Drawn well for me too. This horse works with Gustav Klimt and a couple of other nice sorts at home and I think he's seriously well handicapped off 93. He's had not much luck the last twice and a stiff straight mile is what he wants. Got a range of prices from 33s to 50s, but he's actually my biggest possible winning bet of the week. Had just shy of 250 ew on him in total, not the biggest stake placed this week, but would certainly win me a decent chunk. Really keen on him.
