He's OK as far as I'm concerned. Many years ago he posted on a small racing site, this when he was on TV. Can imagine one or two in that position who wouldn't give their time to something with no financial reward (respect to Gary O'Brien who posted on same site too) - oh and I know he sometimes posts on here so wouldn't want to say anything not nice & have Big Guru point me out to himLaugh

So would they all - MJK - at least the often berated 'old School' Dessie still does just that,   in Ireland.

However - Richard Hoiles is a downright decent chap - and probably under some sort of instruction to  try and make it more exciting.... and possibly against his personal wishes, aswell.

Yes he did post (as ratpack) a little while ago.

Any chance of setting something please. Some posters seem to believe that commentators are being directed to say what might happen instead of just what is happening, and to constantly make reference to the 'favourite' and/or produce a worried tone when it's the 'favourite' who is being pushed and not going well. Is this true? Thanks in advance.

No, Tommo is directed to say what aint never gonna happen.
By:
ratpack
When: 16 May 18 17:09
That a reference (not constant) to the favourite should be made is the only part of that which is true.

I was going to say Richard H is a thoroughly decent, genuine bloke and a damn good caller but plenty of others, who also have the pleasure of knowing him, have done it for me

Thank You. Most UK commentators seem to give far more than a reference unfortunately, as though every punter is just a favourite betting idiot. Pity commentators have been asked to reference favourites in the first place, a ridiculous directive.
