standard of jockeys nowadays

Is it me but do the apprentices seem much better than they used to be and the so called pro's a lot worse than they used to be. obviously there are exceptions but any trainer now not making use of all these good apprentices like David Egan, Nicole curry etc must be mad.  Theyre hungry.. I can see them now going through the form book for tomorrow working out what is what, where they should be, where thepace is coming from etc etc. Whereas the established jocks might do this on the eve of royal ascot but are prob now online playing poker. p.s Charlie Bishop is just top notch and champion jockey in the making.
