Just watched the Barry Dennis interview with Simon Nott on twitter, thing old age is catching up with Barry,On about the Frankie day at Ascot he think's Frankie won the last race with DOUGIE SMITH coming 2nd, he's lost the plot.
Overseas, think part 3 will be on towards the end of the week. first 2 parts have been worth watching but has I said think they could have edited them.

I like Baz, great character, racecourses should have more of them. he's one of only a handful of bookies who wouldn't have to pack up if the exchanges were banned on course

He seems to think all those who want to bet with bookies are arbers (ironic) and all Betfarians are winners or have I just imagined him saying that on here?

Deep dale, probably plenty of errors, can't be asked to research, but, as Eric Morcombe said to Ande Previn,,im playing all the right notes not necessarily in the right order

I placed a bet at Lingfield AW many moons ago with yourself. £100 at 5/2 not a massive bet as you would appreciate. It managed to win and when i came to get paid, you treated me as some kind of thief.
I don't mind a 'bit of craic' but i felt that was a bit over the top.

Met Barry in Barbados a couple of times over the years watching the cricket, seemed a nice enough bloke to me.
If he is the same on a cold wet day at Lingfield when you are punting with him, I could not possibly comment on.

bet with him many times pre exchanges on course, i'd say he was just focused on getting money in the bag rather than rude but when you went to collect he was a gent
on the forum he's posted under his own name, answered questions, don't think he's ever been rude here either, just says his bit, nothing wrong with that

Barry's venture into the high st ended fairly briefly when Billy's bought his Romford Market square unit. The shop attracted all the usual east end sharks and Barry played them longer than he should have.

i thought mr dennis might mention the people who have put in the money over the years which allowed him to bet and the people who come up to the joint and laid his back bets but that was back in the good old days before betfair.it was nice to hear him say he got it completely wrong about betfair people remember well him saying it's the greatest thing ever i think mr dennis got a nice few quid off betfair on tick back in the good old days like a few other bookmakers who then found it hard to pay back.they say the devil looks after his own so i think you be seeing mr dennis for many more years.

doubt it . £2 different kettle of fish. £20 would seem a reasonable amount to suit all parties except for the addicted . A mandatory "How Fu*king stupid am i for playing on this machine with the odds stacked against me" button may help but i doubt it.

I think they will go down to 20..........keep the bookies happy........the government will say they have done something but at the same time not lose much in revenue

Some of the comments here about Dennis are a bit silly
Nevertheless he's made plenty of money down the years. I think he can stand people taking the pee who've provided him with such a good living for so long.

It was most likely a bit of age related memory confusion. Probably not serious.
I always liked Barry Dennis, about 40 years+ on the track, one of the grumpy old men now hankering for the old days. He was always entertaining on C4 and when he was doing "Barry's Bismark" (up in distance, up in class = BISMARK !). And Big Mac could hardly tip a winner, but when he started doing the "Bismark" he couldn't tip a loser !

On one Morning Line he tipped a horse that was running at Lingfield that night. I backed it and it won around 8/1. I thanked him for it the next time I saw him at Brighton. He said they don't like me doing that as I'm only there to to tip a loser.
