Looked 3.25 to me, they give 2.5. Naughty judge

Im fully aware how its worked out, just unsure whether they got it right this time. There are other occasions where the distances are declared incorrectly

I play the distances a lot and some of the decisions are beyond belief. Surely a simple freeze frame can give a trained judge (and most others) an accurate answer. Why the need for 'times' ?
I suppose the view to take is that it probably evens out in the long run but even so.

what do you mean by freeze frame? the winning distance (indeed all distances between runners in the formbook) is the gap between them as each of them crosses the line (cos they havent finished the race til they cross the line) rather than the gaps between them as the winner crosses the line
