Same here.
Not responding message appears very regularly. |

In running is a total waste of time on Firefox now .... dangerous be careful if you do that in running or cash out..
|
By:
Not just Firefox,Chrome too,not ISP or browser imo - BF
|
By:
Defo BF .... Ineternet Explorer seems to work fine but I hate it .
|
By:
Firefox connects okay here but message says it's not secure
|
By:
i thought it was the pga tour site, maybe it is both that and betfair, same as yourselves, slow responses and freezing,a total bags.
The "not secure" message is also on paddy power site,i think it has something to do with "adobe flash player" |
By:
The not secure message is to do with deprecated ciphers or insecure content on supposedly secure pages. The browsers are getting sniffy about it.
Adobe Flash is almost certainly insecure but that is another story. In fact, it is why you might now need to configure your browsers to run Flash at all. |
By:
ha ... even IE problems. BF wizards did another total F**K up
|
By:
More chance of Frankel coming out of retiement and running in next years National than me configuring a browser Ramruna.
Something is very wrong somewhere though, there really shouldn't be pure frustration in visiting a site and it having such a negative effect on a computer. |
By:
William Hill is offering 10,000 to 1 on that Frankel bet .

korals 5/1 max bet 1 pound

pa lapsy, trawl through the last few days, there is another thread on this which touch wood has solved my problem for now, it tells you how to sort flashplayer so it works with chrome, it does work and it was simple to do. Mine had worked perfectly for yrs but got so bad switched to mozilla the that slowed up, saw the thread, followed instructions, now happily back on chrome.

After some awful days ( in my case usually evenings cos I concentrate on US racing )on both Firefox and Chrome,Firefox was much better ( though not quite right )last night but Chrome still as bad as ever.
Something Betfair has done has affected some of us in different ways and in different browsers. Some are unaffected. Total mystery to me. |
By:
I switched to a new browser months ago when all this started and told people but nobody was interested or thanked me so I'll keep it to myself
|

Firefox on Windows 7, Virgin, slow BF at times, was bad Tuesday pm, seems ok for now.
I've noticed that as I log in to BF, the left hand menu doesn't automatically switch to My Markets anymore, anyone else have this? |
By:
I use Chrome on Windows 8.1. My homepage is https://www.betfair.com/exchange/plus/
|
By:
Firefox running Betfair exchange like treacle. V close to unuseable. Anyone in BF even looking at this?
|
By:
spoke too soon, slowing down
|
By:
One trick you might try is to reset hardware acceleration.
Firefox: menu > options (gear wheel) > advanced > general > browsing > tick or untick checkbox for "use hardware acceleration when available" You can change it back afterwards. Sometimes you have the wrong choice. Sometimes you have the right choice but it gets stuck so you turn it off and back on again. |

on this samsung laptop ive got win7 and chrome and firefox both ok using bf interface.

Betfair are running a long winded script and are not responding.(that's the message)They know they are running it,but seem uninterested in fixing it.The longer you remain on the site the slower it gets.Sportsbook is working ok,and the forum is working ok but its the exchange that has the problem.
So for some reason betfair know the problem but will not fix it and they are leaking customers to other gambling sites as each day passes, customers cannot bet if the site does not work but as I say betfair are not interested and its now 12 days since the problem started. |
By:
Just noticed that when I log in to betfair my CPU triples in speed. Is this normal?
|
By:
the biggest problem is the football pages,if I decide to place 10 on a team playing tonight it will take 7 to 10 minutes to get the page up on screen.nobody in their right mind could put up with that delay.
So its my guess that their long running script is all the football games are reloading every few seconds to update and this is causing a drag on the entire exchange .During the early hours of the morning when there are only a few games taking place the site is much quicker. But this story is only going to end one way if betfair keep burying their head in the sand.someone at betfair towers must take some sort of action, even if its only a message on the service page saying they are aware of the problem and are looking into it would help.SO MUCH FOR CUSTOMER CARE. |
By:
I use Opera,no probs.
|
By:
Just noticed when I log into betfair I can now post a reply..
|
By:
I use Vista/Firefox. Just put a lay on Barca which went on immediately.
|
By:
Really strange. A lot of people are clearly having dreadful problems, and some (maybe more) are unaffected.
Personally both at work (Win 7, Chrome, whoever my employers buy their internet from) and home (Win 10, Chrome, Virgin) I've had no problems over the last week, everything's no faster or slower than normal (Racing pages only, I don't go near the rest of the site often enough to know how it normally behaves). Though in reaction to brassneck's post above I did go to the football homepage, order by time and click on some U23 mathc this evening. Took a few seconds for the Football page to load all the events up but I was onto the market pretty quickly, not the 7 to 10 minutes brassneck is experiencing, |
By:
barca game may be on the home page, and may come up quickly.
it seems as it is only about 20% of customers have the problem, but the long running script is certain to create traffic problems as the days pass and the site will grind to a halt.imvho. |
By:
the site just freezes,no movement at all.and the message appears betfair is not responding due to a long running script.
|
By:
horse pages working ok at the moment
|
By:
Have you tried using noscript Brassneck?
|
By:
@brassneck -- your long-running script error might be caused by an extension or plug-in you are running. Try disabling all of them and see if the problem goes away. If it does, reenable them one at a time till it comes back.
But before you do that, clear your cache in case you have cached some stale javascript. Btw, is that IE rather than Firefox? |
By:
Sounds like his machine is totally clogged up.
|
By:
He could try refreshing his browser
|
By:
Thanks very much for your reply Doorman99.
"Totally clogged up" is the exact description. The point with length of time on site i can understand as well. I am useless with computers,i think Ramruna might have something with plugins/extensions,for what it is worth i have just 2, ad block and cookie killer. I haven,t put the betfair site(just forum) on the computer for the last 2 days,it is like a hoppy thing after a few jars of jelly beans. |
By:
I've just phoned Betfair and complained .. It all seems a surprise to them and said they know nothing about the problem.. obviously all bollocks, was told the matter will be raised with the tech team
|
By:
look guys im not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to computers,i cant spell,i type with one finger and you might as well talk to me about rocket science as cleaning browsers and caches because I don't understand them.
All I know is that every other site on the entire internet works perfect except betfair, and its just as easy for me to back with another gambling site as it is with betfair. But I like the guys on betfair and I know you are all trying to help me but I have a fear that if I press the wrong button I will feck everything up,so I will suffer the slowness rather than try to fix it.i like the saying" if its not broke don't fix it" I will struggle on and no doubt when betfair do an upgrade they will feck the site up again and I live in hope that when they do feck it up again they will correct the last feck up. but thanks to all you guys you are a good bunch and I know I am a pain in the arse sometimes but I do like all of you even though I seldom say it.Thanks again guys.Brass. |
By:
if this is a petition you have my signature ! betfair only website that slows down gradually to a halt ...all browsers
|
By:
oh yeah and 30 per cent cpu usage too !
