Oh well, shame about the double, would appear to have been flattered in that maiden |

A winning day tho. I had a bet typed in for Flight of Fantasy earlier and never put it on.

Six points profit on the day thanks to London Grammar. Disappointed with the other one, but hey, if I could make 6 pts profit each day I wouldn't be complaining!

Haaffa Sovereign, 1pt EW @ 20-1, 8.20 Wolverhampton
Haaffa Sovereign caught my eye back in October over 12f at Newcastle, when he was returning from over two years off the track and making his debut for Kevin Morgan. He was quite fresh and keen, tracking the pace (first two were held up), but despite looking like he had something to offer, he got no luck in the run, being denied a clear run and losing his position. Connections then opted to run him in a maiden at Wolverhampton he had little chance of winning on the figures, but he wasn't disgraced in finishing fourth and the handicapper put him up 5lb to a whopping 48! He then once again caught the eye on Tapeta on his return to handicap company (class 7) over 12f at Wolverhampton, again not getting the clearest of runs and shaping better than the bare result. His final run for Kevin Morgan wasn't as promising, finishing well held over 11f at Kempton, but perhaps Polytrack and / or going right-handed wasn't to his liking. Two runs so far for Laura Morgan have been over hurdles, being sent off at 100-1 and pulled up each time. Haafa Sovereign is a lowly-rated, light-raced 6YO who presumably has had his problems, but his three runs on Tapeta have suggested there may be a low-grade handicap in him, so at rewarding odds, he gets a speculative EW vote. |

Cheers KC. She's obviously got her limitations, but given how she stayed on at both Lingfield and Kempton, looks worth a try over 10f imo.

I was reading the trainer's name as Laura Mongan, and did the same with Ted's Brother, another Laura Morgan now trains.
Mind playing tricks on me |

Sunday's selections
Rosenborg Rider, 1pt win @ 40-1, 2.55 Naas Rapid Applause, 1pt win @ 8-1, 2.55 Naas Both of these caught my eye on their latest start at Dundalk Rosenborg Rider was formerly trained by Ralph Beckett, and he was having his first run for Adrian McGuiness when prominent in the betting on his first run for around 6 months, over 6f at Dundalk in a race won by Lily's Prince (who reopposes here). The race didn't go his way, dropped out well off the pace, taking a keen hold, then not getting the clearest of runs in the straight, before keeping on well to be a never-nearer than at the finish. He has to prove his effectiveness on turf because two runs on grass for his former yard weren't great, but a chance is taken that he can build on a satisfactory stable debut, with a promising claimer taking 7lb off. Rapid Applause ran in the same race and he too didn't get much luck in running, being hampered at the start and finding himself well in rear, and then meeting with significant trouble in the straight, before being switched and running on well for fifth. He has fallen down the handicap having been rated over 100 at one point (runner-up in Group 3 company as a juvenile) and better was clearly expected judging from the market (SPs of 20-1 and 25-1 (twice) at Dundalk prior to going off at 7-1 on his latest start), and with the return to turf not expected to be an issue, a chance is taken for the minimum EW stake. |

X-rated stuff from this evening's pick, so that's two pulled-ups and a shocker for his new stable from 3 starts. Think I can safely remove that one from the notebook

From the race your two selections are in George Midnightmudcrabs is one im interested in this season with some give in the ground. The concern today is she is friendless in the market and when she bolted up last year she was backed off the boards. But im having a little tickle at silly prices on here. Gl with yours, I can see the appeal of both.

Good luck mackies.
Rosenborg Rider is out to 50s and just wonder if he'll need further to be seen to best effect, but hopefully a stronger run race will suit. At the moment the market is suggesting the other one is on a going day. |

The other one was definitely eyecatching last time!

Good luck with these 2 George, i quite like another one in that race Golden Pearl of Halford. Just had 4 runs so far, tried to give 11lb to the older horse Primo Uomo lto at Dundalk over 5fs, that horse now rated 93. ^lb lower on turf but won on debut over 6fs, Halford in good form, think has a good chance, good luck.

Btw, I was wondering about the Morgan horses and I know you've been a follower in the past, has Kevin retired? Same surname but they appear to be different stables? |

Noticed one or two running for different stables recently George but haven't looked into it as yet!

I'm not getting any magic vibes for anything tomorrow, so I think I'm going to pass. There is a horse running in the last at Windsor that I selected on this thread the last time it ran, Who Told Jo Jo, and the early betting is suggesting he's going to be a lot more competitive this time than he was that day, when it looked like he could barely raise a gallop, but I'd still rather watch tomoz.
