no flash , it's the first quarterly payment of the turf tv deal. [ my cheque is only £590 but I am now only part time.
the racing partnership is the new one with ARC which the BRBA has been working on for the last six months. a great improvement on what course bookmakers have received previously and a much healthier payments system.

i doubt the books who were hoping to bet at hereford on thursday in front of the silver ring stand will be feeling life is getting better when only yesterday they find out the stand is closed, perhaps the books in tatts will suggest allowing an extra 3 in tatts after all there is room.

adge  - I have received a new contract offer in the post this week - can we sign or are we stuck with the original contracts we signed earlier this year.

I don't know what you have signed , davy , but if it is one that included SIS in any way they are now confirmed as out of the picture and invalid. others may try to say different so you may need to take advice but don't miss out on this new deal as it is way beyond anything course bookmakers have ever received in the past .

Adge - Thanks, it was the original one with SIS/FRB, does that mean I can transfer over to this and have it run through the BRBA
By:
adge
When: 04 Oct 16 12:00
the SIS/FRB deal is now dead in the water as SIS have pulled out / been forced to pull out.
the FRB may limp along with a new deal with ARC  but bookmakers would receive a much , much lower fund distribution when you compare the BRBA guarantee of full payments to bookmakers without ANY deductions compared against the old FRB format where directors salaries at 2015 figures are £44,000 per annum plus a secretary salary at £15,000 per annum all of which is deducted before any payments made to bookmakers are made from remaining funds.

the postman has just been and it seems another trail of letters to confuse has begun.
an UNSIGNED rushed letter from the FRB actually clarifies the above with the paragraph "SIS has consented that the FRB open negotiations to achieve an assignment " which specifies that SIS are withdrawn.
so you and all others are safe to sign up it seems , davy

Your data rights are important Davy.  There is no rush to sign anything.  Make sure you have discussed all options before you make your mind up.  For clarity, no one should be telling you who to sign with, it is for everyone to make their own decision based on the facts.  I currently do not have all the facts so I will not be signing anything.

All stakeholders need to give this matter serious consideration. I empathise with Flash re his confused reaction to the correspondence recently received from TRP and FRB. I realise it is foolish to wish for an open forum at which the main players i.e ARC TRP SIS BRBA and FRB would state their cases but if this came to pass a more informed decision would transpire. Adge's point regarding the cost of salaries/annuities/honoraria plus the questionable expenditure on certain legal services being deducted before the payment of 'data payments' from one quarter would be an interesting discussion point. The choice is simple even if the decision is not !

what does pesky mean ?
By:

When: 05 Oct 16 10:11
as in my opening post , democrat , I have already received my first quarterly cheque of the turf tv deal for 2016/2017 with no deductions.
the FRB received the full annual payments from both turf tv and arc for 2015/2016 some months ago but have no plans to distribute these funds to bookmakers until at least may 2017. why are they sitting on it in their bank account until then and will there be anything left for bookmakers by that time anyway ?
By:
Davy Jones
When: 05 Oct 16 10:26
adge - but will that be the last time the FRB have this money because of the new deals? How many deals do we have to consider going forward - I assumed the one I received this week superseded all the others?

You seem to be very satisfied adge with your situation. Perhaps your reservations regarding the FRB and lack of accountability, delayed payments etc etc. will lead others to vote with their feet and join you. I am not keen on the idea of fragmentation - 'one voice' and solidarity with true representation should be the aim.

Its all very well in the short term to take the money-but can I ask who will pay for Lawyers/advocates when the need arises?
Seems a bit short sighted to me,unless someone can advise otherwise.

ADGE TURF TV HAVE TRIED TO SCREW YOU ONCE,THEY WONT FAIL IN 3 YEARS TIME,DONT EXPECT THE FRB TO FIGHT YOUR CORNER OR YOUR COURTYARD BUDDIES,AS THE ABOVE POST STATES "SEEMS A BIT SHORT SIGHTED"Cry

the turf tv contracts have a clause within them which allows the BRBA 10% of payments for such eventualities , kevin. I haven't seen the new ARC one but I would expect it to be the same.
at the same time the BRBA have a board of directors who give up their time for free to gain good working relationships with all racecourses and groups which include Jockey Club Racecourses . situations like the courtyard at Cheltenham , I am confident , would not arise now.
confrontation is not the BRBA way of doing things.

I dont remember seeing a 10% clause in the turf tv contract?  Was it in special conditions Z?

So the racecourses have allowed the BRBA to fight them on issues, as long as they only spend 10% of the fund.....
'the BRBA guarantee of full payments to bookmakers without ANY deductions'  - that doesn't sound strictly true now does it?
