Cheers guys, keep finding one too good
If its any consolation Top3man I also fancied FOG, but now I am puzzled because I thought it would appreciate the 12 furlongs the time before & it bombed out & now dropped to the extended nine it basically bombed out again so not sure where they are going to go with it, 18lb lower tonight than last win so nowt to do with its hcp mark. |

trainers rep reason for todays poor effort for fatcat "unsuited by the heavy ground" , won on heavy in ireland.
jockey did not seem to get overly vigorous with the horse, perhaps he could feel him struggling in the ground. |

R.Stephens wins the last race on Saturday and Sunday now ...
|

I was wrong about JP btw. Nicholls actually bought the horse out of Stephens yard, so maybe the owner wanted to sell. Nicholls then sold it to JP, and not JP taking the horse away. |

Monday the 15th Guesses
Billy No Name in the 3.00 at Plumpton - 7/1 general 8 year old gelding, who has done really well since returning from the sidelines after 2 years off. He won his first start at Wetherby over a sharp 19.5f, and he ran a fine 2nd behind the well regarded Missed Approach of Warren Greatrex, who was probably a handicap blot, he was put up 17lb for the win. Always best to judge on what happened in behind, which was Sykes, and he's put in two solid efforts in since. BNN was the 2nd best horse that day, the trip of 24f might of stretched him a bit too. We last saw him at Kempton over 21f, and he wasn't given the greatest of rides imeo. He was help up (completely different to previous tactics), and out wide. I think he ran really well to finish just 16 lengths behind the winner, he was given a pretty easy time. If you care to look through the form of that race, it's also worked out well - The winner came 2nd in the Holloway NTO, and Flying Eagle came 3rd in the Betfair Hurdle on Saturday. Tomorrow is the first time he's been on ground officially described as Heavy, which is a question mark. I don't believe it was far off heavy at Newbury looking at the standard times, but I don't know how heavy the ground is tomorrow at Plumpton. Hopefully he will be ridden more prominently tomorrow. Nothing looks outstandingly handicapped in the race, and they've all got a few question marks or negatives surrounding them whether it be returning from a lay off, or coming down or up in trip. Just seems too big a price. |

OK here we go, my first tip on here. Ovet the past few weeks, I've noticed that bumper horses by Black Sam Bellamy have been running really well on the present ground. Saw one was out at Wetherby last Saturday, was a big price 27, so had a tenner each way, it was his first run. Was called Sams Adventure, trained by Brian Ellison, There was a well fancied fav in the race, 11/10 shot, Burlington Bert (Warren Greatrex)which had previously finished 15 lengths behind Ballyandy in a listed bumper at Ascot. Sams Adventure sluiced up by 20 lengths from the 2nd fav with a further 15 lengths back to the jolly. Sams returned 10. Next one I spotted was in the first of the 2 bumpers at Kempton on Friday, Sir Anthony Browne (Alan King) which apparently on jockey bookings was his second string, it was also his first run. was 23 in the morning, so again I played, it steadily shortened during the day, so I went in again at 14, it returned 9 and duly won. Anyway tomorrows bumper at Catterick sees another one, again its first run, Sam Spinner, not really a market for it at present 16 - 40. There's a 6/4 shot in the race that could be useful, it finished 10 lengths in front of Pure vision at Donny, a horse that previously had finished 15 lengths in front of Onthewesternfront, a horse that should have won the 2nd bumper at Kempton on Friday. But we aint gonna get rich with 6/4 chances, so I'll stick with the Black Sam progeny, the softer the ground the better.

Bailiwick - 2.20 Wolver 8/1
Ran a really decent race here in Oct in a 0-75, though only 8th found trouble & should have been a lot closer than the three lengths it was beaten by, that was off 68, now off 60 its having its easiest hcp task to date, only career win was here & the booking of George Baker really catches the eye. |

I think Catterick is OK?
I like Jokers And Rogues in the 2.40 race - 8.2 betfair, 7/1 general TheSecret pointed this one out, always loves a good stable changer. It's move fromd John Wade to Kenneth Slack, the former trainer hasn't managed a single winner this year, where as his new trainer has won with 7 of the 11 horses he's run this year, and all 7 have come from a different yard. He's got two ex-Wade horses in his yard, Apache Blue, and Runswick Relax. Apache Blue was in the doldrums when he joined, and this 12 year old hasn't done much better with Slack, but I'm not sure if the horse has enough ability any more to work with. Runswick Relax has been rejuvenated, he last run off an OR of 69 for Wade, but Slack has got a win and numerous place efforts out of him to get him back up to 82 now. Jokers And Rogues has bits of pieces of form from last season that make him look like he has a race in him, even if his finishing efforts have been frustrating. The 4th behind Cowslip back in March over 19.5f was the highlight, he looked to have the field beat turning in, but he didn't see it through. Perhaps he went for home a bit too soon. He made his return this season in November, where he had two run over fences, he showed up well for a long way at Sedgefield, but weakened once more, and his jumping was pretty ugly too. First time tongue tie today, would be great if he's had a wind op, who knows. But if Slack can improve the horse, then he should go close today. |

Sam Spinner 4-40 Catterick.
Having a saver on Persian Steel (Ellison, in form) Was entered up in the bumper at Newbury last Saturday, but taken out at the 24 hour stage, maybe cos of the ground, but was an above average bumper. |

LOOKING WELL 4-10 catterick could be "thrown in" of 123.
pushed definitly red all the way over c/d lto jumping well and beat a decent tool in sky khan over hurdles at kelso. runs in the monet's garden colours. only problem everyone else noticed and the early 5-1 as long gone. |
By:

Plumpton 15.00 Billy No Name Billy No Name has got the much better recent form of my two in this and I'd say he's got the best chance. He ran no sort of race last time when it was the race after the King George and I think Paddy's head was in the clouds. He'd prefer better ground, but has won on soft this season so he should have another solid chance today. C.Tizzard |

Always nice to hear.
Just the ground today really, could easily tail off. |
By:
1.22 jokers.
|
By:
I'm back on form then
|
By:
Far too aggressive for my liking.
I like front running, but didn't see much benefit going that far clear when the horse has been a suspect stayer previously. |
By:
if your selection hit's 1.22 every time you will not go far wrong.

Well done again Ryan.

Catterick Bridge 16.10 Warrantor impressed me a lot when winning at Lingfield latest in very testing conditions, not only did he jump well but he showed a great attitude to get to the eventual second. He has been raised 6 pound for today but I still don't think we have the seen the best of him and it will be a huge help with my son Tom taking off a valuable 7 under top weight in these conditions. I' am hopeful he can take another step forward over this longer trip and should be involved at the finish. W.Greatex |
