money can be made by laying if your not greedy
What did u lose on? |

Loads packing the horses up, there are better betting options, had to laugh yesterday when someone said Football betting was unpredictable. Football couldnt possibly be anywhere near as unpredictable as horse or greyhound racing. Too many poor jockeys giving awful rides by accident or design, thats the major problem punters face.
|
By:
what is you betting bank ?
what is you liability on each selection ? what is you longest losing run ? what could be be biggest drawdown ? |
By:
i'd say football in the premier league is as unpredictable as anything at the moment

Basil - winning at horseracing is like a science . The psychological demands that is entails is a massive challenge .
The reason why most lose on the horses is because they have no idea what the expected profit should be regarding turnover . Winning at horseracing is indeed possible but dont plan to win your fortune in a day or a week . Plan it over a number of years . |
By:
laying liverpool every home game would have bagged you a nice profit last 10 years
|
By:
Zealot - correct.
|
By:
I would suggest having 2 betting banks
1 for your serious bets and the other for your fun bets, keep a record of all bets and why you backed/layed them. After a period of time you may realise that you can do it but need to be more disciplined or you can't and just do it for fun. I know that day to day betting on the horses is no good for me. |
By:
If only they would let the horses race without jockeys... putting a carrot/nosebag in front of them during the race then flipping it behind them after the post. No more armchair jockey crying foul.

By:
As apposed to having the Betfair carrot lay button in front of the jockey's nose
|

The game of horseracing is packed with many variables . It is an "intellectual challenge" but the psychological part of it is the biggest to overcome .
If you started with a £2,000 betting bank and increased it by 50% each year it wouldnt take long to build up a small fortune . Youve got to treat it like a business and dont get too greedy !!!! |
By:
expecting 50% off a £2k bank with proper staking is unrealistic
|
By:
most people fail because it's bl00dy hard not because of lack of discipline.
|
By:
I wouldn't like to estimate how many threads i've read on here that state lack of discipline being the down fall. What usually has happened is the bank has been built up quickly with rash staking that has just happened to come off, then it collapses in the same way.
|
By:
would you say so striding ?
laying to 5% and increasing/decreasing liabilities with betting bank ?? what would be your approach ? |
By:

expecting 50% off a £2k bank with proper staking is unrealistic It is. The reality is, it should be much more than 50%. |

Onlooker....on the face of it those two games were surprising results, but not to everyone. Neither result really shocked me, Chelsea have been badly out of form and I actually laid them. Similar comments apply to the Liverpool game, Liverpools team last eyar was the worst I can remember in my entire lifetime. Both Chelsea and Liverpool are there to be beaten at present, even by average teams like West Ham and Palace.
Man Utd also look vulnerable as like Chelsea and Liverpool they have misfiring strikers. I dont think Football is unpredictable when compared to horse racing or dogs mate. |
By:
liverpool are one of the worst value punts in football consistently mate
and i'm a fan I Think if you are better at something it's natural to assume it's easier to read perhaps? just stick to what you are best at i rarely touch football |

By:
Too easy to fake that sort of thing, it doesnt mean anything, and I certainly wouldnt do anything at your request Rioda, as your just a troll. It makes me laugh that you use a couple of your other identities to big you up as a top punter, never read anything so ridiuculous in my life, Troll On you complete loser.

9000 posts in 4 years, delusional fanatsist imho.

By:
Stakes = 2% of Racing Bank
|
By:
I would say if you're backing on horses it all depends on what sort of prices you typically back at. If you focus on mostly e/w bets and rarely back at 3/1 and lower then 2% of your bank should be a nice bet, typically 1% for a normal bet but be willing to go up to 5% as a max bet.
